Toyota Fortuner Facelift Will Come with These Changes

Toyota Indus Motor Company (IMC) is all set to launch the new facelift of Toyota Fortuner. As per our sources, the car would arrive in the market around May-June 2021. Furthermore, the reports suggested that IMC has started booking the car at partial payments of Rs3,000,000.

IMC has taken the step as current models of Fortuner Sigma Diesel, Fortuner Petrol (V), and Fortuner Petrol (G) has completely run out.

Price of New Toyota Fortuner: 

Pricing has not been revealed by the company yet but it is expected that it would cost approximately up to 5% more and for Fortuner V, up to 15% due to conversion from 4×2 drivetrain to 4×4.

Variants with Facelift: 

As per the reports, IMC has only introduced facelift in three variants:

  •  SIGMA 4×4 (Diesel)
  • Fortuner V 4×4 (Petrol)
  • Fortuner G 4×2 (Petrol)

Expected Changes in Toyota Fortuner: 

Two variants, SIGMA and V Grade, will come with a new front grille, revised bumper design, rear LED lights, advanced front, new alloy wheel design and silver skid plate in the front. Meanwhile, Fortuner G is coming with the changes mentioned above, along with minor differences to distinguish the high-grade variants over standard variants.

Improvement in Engine Power: 

Along with body changes, Toyota is also introducing enhancements 2.8L 1GD engine of the SIGMA variant. The company has improved the turbocharger along with structural improvements in the electronically controlled common rail injection system and cylinder block. Also, the exhaust manifold has led to an improvement in horsepower as it has reached 201hp from 180hp, while torque has improved by 50Nm.

The other changes in 1GD include the addition of a Balance Shaft, which will improve the Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) of the engine. Reportedly the engine noise in the new Fortuner will reduce up to 10db during acceleration.

Moreover, the company has also enhanced the fuel efficiency of the engine by 4% as compared to the current model.
