Toyota Yaris was a much-anticipated car in Pakistan that potentially replaced the iconic 1.3-liter variants of Toyota Corolla in the local auto sector of Pakistan. The all-new Yaris is a great addition in this segment as it will be a new competitor of Honda City And Suzuki Ciaz in Pakistan. Toyota Yaris is equipped with a 4-cylinder in-line 16-valve DOHC with dual VVT-I 1329 cc 1NR-FE engine with sequential multi-port fuel injection (SFI) system. It can produce a maximum output power of 98 hp at 6000 rpm and a maximum torque of 123 Nm at 4200 rpm. Yaris is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.

On the other hand, Honda City is powered by a 16-valve 4-cylinder I-VTEC 1339 cc engine with an electronic fuel injection (EFI) system. It produces a maximum output power of 100 hp at 6000 rpm and 128 Nm of maximum torque. The car is mated to a synchronized 5-speed forward manual transmission.

Braking & Suspension:

Toyota Yaris is powered by ventilated disc brakes at the front wheels and drum brakes at the rear side. For an optimum braking experience, the company has also provided a Brake Assist (BA) system as well. The front suspension of Yaris is equipped with Mac Pherson Strut, whereas the rear suspension has a torsion beam.

Honda City comes with a disc braking system at the front wheels while the rear side is equipped with drum brakes. The suspension of the City has a MacPherson Strut Suspension with Stabilizer at the front while the rear side has a torsion beam with stabilizer.

Dimensions & Capacity:

The length and width of the Yaris are 4425 mm and 1730 mm, respectively. In terms of height, the car is 1475 mm tall. The wheelbase and minimum turning radius of the Toyota Yaris is 2550 mm and 5.1 meter. The luggage compartment has a capacity of 476 liters, while the fuel tank can store up to 42 liters of fuel.

In comparison to this, Honda City has a length of 4395 mm, while the width and height of the car are 1695 mm and 1480 mm, respectively. The wheelbase of Honda City is 2550 mm, whereas it has a ground clearance of 160 mm. The turning radius of the City is 5.3 meters and comes equipped with 42 liters of a fuel tank. Honda City comes with a luggage trunk capacity of 506 liters.

Exterior:

Toyota Yaris is stylish and elegant on the outside. At the front side, it has a 4-beam halogen lamp headlight while the daytime running lamp is missing in this particular variant. It has a pigmented front radiator grille. There are no fog lamps in this variant of Yaris. It has body-colored outside door handles, and side-view mirrors with integrated side turn signals. The windshield has a green lamination, and the front windscreen has intermittent wipers. On the rear side, there is a short pole antenna. Underneath it, there is a rear chrome garnish between the rear combination lamps. For an elegant appearance, the automaker has provided with LED line guide in the rear lamps and a reflex reflector at the bottom end of the rear bumper. The standard tyre size offered by the company is 185/60 R15, with steel wheels with full wheel caps.

Honda City had received just a few changes in its exterior ever since its launch back in 2009. At this time, the latest facelifted model of City comes with chrome and black front radiator grille and body-colored bumpers. It also has a USB and AUX connectivity feature along with MP3, CD player, and Radio. There are 2 speakers provided by the auto manufacturer.

Honda City also comes with a few basic entertainment features installed in the sedan. It’s powered by a new integrated tuner system which comes with the connectivity of FM Radio, AUX, and USB connectivity. The infotainment system is provided with 2 speakers in the front doors as standard. The provision of rear speakers is also given, but it’s an optional feature.

In terms of price, Toyota Yaris comes neck to neck with Honda City as can be seen below:
