After Atlas Honda yesterday, United Auto Industries has increased the United bike prices up to Rs. 11,000. In a notification, the company said that production cost has increased due to the recently imposed General Sales Tax (GST) and increased raw material rates. It has become hard for the company to maintain the current prices; hence, it is increasing the prices of all of its bikes immediately.

United Bike Prices

  • The old price of United US 70 was Rs. 87,500, and after a jump of Rs. 9,000, its new rate is Rs. 96,500.
  • The previous rate of United US 100 was 92,000, and after a jump of Rs. 10,000, the new price of this bike is Rs. 102,000.
  • The third bike is United US Scooty 100, which also observed a hike of Rs. 10,000 and now will cost Rs. 120,000 against the previous Rs. 110,000.
  • The last bike is United US 125, which used to cost Rs. 130,000, and after seeing a jump of Rs. 11,000, its latest price is Rs. 141,000.

Terms and Conditions

  • The new prices are implemented from February 16, 2023.
  • All bookings sent to the company from February 16, 2023, will be on the new rates.

Although the company has shared the reasons for increasing the rates, the question could be asked about the bikes already at the dealerships or being produced. Why is the company imposing the GST on these bikes? They must’ve been made at the old rate of raw material. This has become a trend in the local market, especially by the bike companies, to increase the prices repeatedly despite claiming complete localization. It seems that they are just trying to earn as much as possible from the consumers despite producing the bikes at old rates.

Yesterday, Atlas Honda hiked the prices up, taking the rate of Honda CG 125 over Rs. 200,000. And it is almost certain that Suzuki and Yamaha will follow very soon.
