Tired of just seeing milli songs or azaadi day sales on independence day instead of ground-breaking technological advancements and productive initiatives like other countries? Well, Pakistan is finally catching up by unveiling its first electric car, which is an indigenous electric hatchback!
DICE Foundation
DICE Foundation, a US-based non-profit organization, run by expatriate Pakistanis, has taken this initiative. The foundation plans on unveiling the electric vehicle on 14th August 2022. This is the first time in Pakistan’s automotive industry history that a made-in-Pakistan vehicle is being launched on Independence Day.
DICE Foundation planned on gifting Pakistan with a modern and futuristic gift on the country’s 3rd Golden Jubilee. This gift not only reflects Pakistan’s technological and economic development but also depicts the unmatched talent that this land bears.
So far, very few details of the car are known as the details will be revealed tomorrow at the unveiling ceremony. All we know right now is that it is a 5-door hatchback built on the indigenous EV platform. The car will run on electric charging and will be built and sold in Pakistan.
Named Nur-E, Pakistan’s first electric car is a symbol of hope for the future and evidence of how far Pakistan has come. Despite the ups and downs, the tough times, and the setbacks, Pakistanis have persevered and continue to make a name for themselves in this competitive, fast-paced world.
