Video – Tesla Model Y Lost Control, Kills 2 in China
A Tesla Model Y in China has allegedly lost control and turned to high speed killing two people, including a schoolgirl, and injuring three on the road. The data shows the car reached a maximum speed of 198km/hour. A video circulating on social media shows that the white Tesla suddenly accelerated after the driver pulled it over on the side of the road.
As per Chinese media, the driver kept honking the horn while grabbing the steering and pressing the brake pedal to avoid a collision; however, he failed to stop it and hit a motorcycle and two bicycles. The relatives of the Tesla owner told the media that he was a 55-year-old professional truck driver and he recently bought the car from a friend.

Tesla Statement
The U.S automaker has said that it will assist Chinese police in investigating the crash. “Police are currently seeking a third-party appraisal agency to identify the truth behind this accident,” the company told media, adding that Tesla will provide necessary assistance. However, it has issued a caution against believing “rumours.”
The company claimed that the video showed that the car’s brake lights remained off while it was speeding. “Our data showed there is no action to step on the brakes throughout the vehicle’s journey,” Tesla stated. However, the driver’s relatives said that they demanded relevant information and data, but they have yet to receive any oral or written reply from Tesla.
China is Tesla’s second-largest market, and the crash was among the country’s top trends on social media platforms.
