Tires are most essential part of any vehicle but their maintenance is often neglected by the vehicle owner. We have devised easy steps through which a vehicle owner can maintain the tires easily. Following are the ways to keep tires clean
- While cleaning the tires, it’s better to use a separate bucket of detergent instead of using the one with which you have cleaned the rest of your car. Same is the case when using brush and cloth. Use a separate brush and cloth to scrub the wheels. If one uses the same brush, then the grease and the dirt of the tire will affect the paint of the car.
- Tyre cleaning product should be used after cleaning the tires with water and detergent. Specially made cleaners are available in the market for the tires. These cleaners remove the obtrusive dirt and grease from tires and wheels. All you need to do is to use the cleaning product according to the instruction written on it. Cleaning products can either be in the form of spray or cream. If it’s in cream form all you need to do is to apply it on the tire, and you can take a break and let the cleaning product do its work.
- Scrubbing is necessary to get clean tires. At a time use both water and scrubbing when cleaning tires. Don’t just rub one tire and move onto other without rinsing the previous one with water. The brush is useful when washing the treads and grooves of the tires. Scrub the crevices of the wheels too. The brake pad is the area where most of the dirt is accumulated, so scrubbing there is necessary. This area is also more prone to the corrosion so care should be taken. Scrub and rinse the tires until it is clean.
- If you are using the wax to clean the wheels, then dry them entirely with the help of the clean cloth. Wax would not work correctly if the wheels are wet. Hence, drying wheels is essential to get clean and shiny wheels. To apply the wax/solution successfully, you need to follow the instructions written on the wax/solution.
- Once the wheels are done use the wax to clean the tires. The Same procedure is repeated, i.e., completely clean and dry the tires. Using wax or its solution on the tires not only makes them fresh and pleasant but it also helps to protect the rubber. It removes such elements from the tire which is not only harmful but corrosive for the tires too. Wax and its solution also act as a blocking agent against UV light. UV light causes the hardening and premature aging of the tire. Thus, wax act as a barrier against UV light and its harmful effects.
