Apocalyptic Smog – What If Pakistani Cars Were in ‘Mad Max’ World
Pakistan’s air quality index is crossing three figures, e.g., 1,000 AQI in Lahore and up to 2,000 in Multan. Now, that’s an insane amount of Smog, even hazardous for the human respiratory system. It’s just that our bodies adapt themselves to harsh conditions, so they have built the resistance to fight 1,000 AQI.
Pakistan’s current situation is similar to Mad Max Fury Road, even more severe than Mad Max’s. It’s a bit relatable. Let’s just see what our cars would be like in Mad Max’s world.
The Gigahhorse | Toyota Hilux Surf
Originally made from Two Caddilac Coupe de Ville’s
The Gigahorse was the primary car driven by the main villain in the movie ” Immortan Joe.” Of course, the movie Gigahorse isn’t a production car but a custom car made from two Caddilac Coupe de Ville cars. The chassis was customized one on another, so you can see why the Gigahorse is so long in height.
If modified, the Hilux Surf can be a great real-life replacement for Gigahorse. It’s a rugged car—we mean very rugged and a true off-roader that never dies. All these things make it a perfect car for the main antagonist (villain).
The Peacemaker | Civic 1995 with Tank Treads
Peacemaker, brutal-looking vehicle used by the War Boys. It’s based on a 1960s Chrysler Valiant with a tank-like body, a rugged, militaristic appearance. Its most distinctive feature is the hybrid design, blending a car frame with tank treads at the rear for added traction and stability over rough terrain, so it looks more like a proper desert safari car.
It’s also the car on which the main protagonist was hung, i.e., Max Rockatansky. He was captured and strapped to the front of a vehicle as a “blood bag” for Nux, one of the War Boys. He’s hung in front of the car. He used to supply blood to Nux as they chase after Furiosa and the war rig across the wasteland.
Anyway, the car’s massive tires and reinforced frame make it ideal for ramming and battling other vehicles on the Fury Road. It embody the “Mad Max” theme of survival-focused, weaponized vehicles in a hostile world. Due to tank treads, you need a solid car to move it, and a Civic 1995 could be a perfect option.
Stage 3 tuned Vtec engine that outputs 400 HP, modified in tank treads, is just a perfect car to replace this fictional Peacemaker.
Tatra T815 | Hino 22-wheeler Oil Tanker
The Tatra T815, known as “The War Rig” in Mad Max: Fury Road, is a heavily modified truck that serves as the main vehicle for Imperator Furiosa in the film. It’s based on the Czech-made Tatra T815, a military vehicle known for its all-wheel drive and rugged design, capable of withstanding harsh environments.
In the movie, the War Rig is outfitted with large off-road tires, reinforced armor, and a massive fuel tanker. It’s equipped with weaponry, including a massive harpoon and a high-tech engine that allows it to navigate the dangerous desert terrain. The vehicle is designed to carry a large crew and fuel as well.
For that purpose, Hino’s 22-wheeler is the best option. It’s fast, solid, and can easily gain two thousand kg of weight. Customize it, modify it with some reinforced rods, and it’s the best vehicle.
NPC Bikes | CG125
In Mad Max, multiple characters use bikes. They are so modified that we couldn’t identify which models they are, but they are specifically designed for off-road and intense use, and we all know which bike it could be in real life: “Honda CG 125.” It’s an all-rounder bike specifically made to be used in rough situations. The suspensions, seat, and OHV engine are best depicted as real-life depictions of Mad Max Fury Road.
The Razor Cola | Indus Corolla
It’s a heavily modified 1973 Ford XB Falcon Hardtop. In the film, the Razor Cola is driven by the War Boys, the fanatical soldiers of the antagonist Immortan Joe. It has been outfitted with a rugged, post-apocalyptic design that includes mounted weapons, rusted and armored bodywork, and oversized off-road tires, making it suitable for the brutal desert environment of the Mad Max universe. Indus Corolla could be the best option for its real-life depiction. Its suspensions are strong as hell, and the Toyota’s VVTi engine is made to last.
