Every other day, we get exciting news about new models and new variants of high-end cars. On rare occasions, do we get to hear about low price cars. Today is one of those days, and the vehicle in the spotlight is Regal Automobiles’ Prince Pearl. As per a recent update, the company is launching an automatic variant of the 800cc hatchback very soon.

The upcoming automatic Prince Pearl will compete with the 660cc automatic hatchback in town, Suzuki Alto AGS

Same Engine, Different Transmission

The automatic variant will carry the same 796cc 3-cylinder naturally aspirated engine from its manual twin. This engine produces 40 horsepower and 60 Nm of torque. In place of the 4-speed manual transmission, the upcoming variant will have a 3-speed automatic gearbox.

Regal Automobile has not yet revealed the detailed specifications of the upcoming Prince Pearl variant. We are expecting fabric seats, power windows, fog lights, DRLs (Daytime Running Lights), air conditioning, 9-inch LCD touchscreen, central door locking, rearview camera, alloy wheels, and other similar features from the ongoing manual variant.

The driver-side airbag is optional in the manual variant. Let’s see if the company offers it as a standard safety feature in the new automatic variant.

Expected Price

There’s no official word on the price of the upcoming car. Considering the Rs. 13.3 lacs price tag of the ongoing Prince Pearl manual variant, we can expect the automatic variant to be around Rs.15 lacs.

So far, the response to Prince Pearl has been okay-ish in the market. Hopefully, the introduction of an automatic variant will stir things up for the car and increase its demand. What do you think about Regal Automobiles’ move of bringing an automatic Prince Pearl? Would the upcoming variant be able to win against Suzuki Alto AGS? Share your thoughts in the comments.
