Best Fuel Average – Honda VS Suzuki VS Super Star

0 2,546

We are back with our challenge of putting different bikes to the test and finding out which one has the best fuel average out of them all. The bikes competing in today’s challenge are Honda CB 150F, Suzuki GD 110, and Super Star SS 70. and we will compare their fuel average with the ones we tested in the previous challenge.

Procedure

The standard procedure we developed for this challenge was to empty the fuel tank of each bike. Then, exactly 1 liter of petrol was filled in the tank of each bike. This way, we will be able to accurately measure the number of kilometers traveled by each bike in one-liter petrol.

To ensure further accuracy, we calculated the kilometers traveled by each bike separately beforehand. During the test, the bikes only stopped once all the fuel from their tanks had drained, and they could not go on further. This way, we subtracted the initial number of kilometers from the final number of kilometers traveled and calculated the average.

Route

Our goal was to mimic the way these bikes are used on a day-to-day basis around Pakistan. Because of this, we chose a route that included busy city streets and empty, wide roads. While commuting, the bikes encountered traffic jams, traffic signals, and broad roads at high speeds.

The bikes were tested at different speeds as well to ensure accuracy in results.

Fuel Average Results

Now is the time to analyze the results. Let’s compare the fuel average of these bikes with the ones in the previous challenge!

  1. Honda CB 150F and Suzuki GS 150 SE almost had the same fuel consumption. Honda showed a fuel average of 40 km/l, while Suzuki GS 150 showed 41 km/l. Here, despite a slightly lower fuel average, Honda might have an advantage here because this bike has a custom exhaust in it.
  2. Comparing Suzuki GD 110 with Honda CG 125, Honda had displayed a fuel average of 53 km/l while Suzuki GD 110 only displayed 47 km/l.
  3. Lastly, comparing Honda CD 70 with Super Star SS 70, we saw that Honda gave a fuel average of 60 km/l while that of the SS 70 is 47 km/l.

Verdict

Our results show that the 150cc segment bikes of Honda and Suzuki are quite similar in fuel consumption, so the only differences left are price and looks. Whichever you like better, you can choose without thinking of the fuel average.

On the other hand, when we compared Suzuki GD 110 with Honda CG 125, we found that the 125 cc bike showed better fuel consumption. Overall, CG 125 is loved for its looks and road presence as well, but Suzuki is liked for its light weight and easy maneuvering.

Lastly, we compared the results of the Honda CD 70 with those of the Super Star SS 70. Super Star showed a considerably lesser fuel average, but it also has the advantage of being lower in price. Moreover, Super Star is a Chinese brand, so the build quality is not comparable with that of Honda.
