By now, all of you know that MG Pakistan has revealed the locally assembled units of MG HS. In an event held in Lahore, the company unveiled two CKD variants, i.e., Base (Excite) and Top (Essence). And like always, the news about MG gained immense attention, and many of you asked one vital question, What is the quality of locally assembled units? And we are here with the answer.
MG HS Essence
As PakWheels.com was invited to the event, we got the first-hand experience to see, observe, and judge those units. So, let’s talk about the Essence variant first, which has all specs and features of the CBU unit. And as per our evaluation, the built quality of CKD units are totally equal to CBU ones as the company has developed these units with great body material while offering the same specs and features. The quality, both exterior and interior, is at par with the imported MG HS vehicles. If the company keeps the same standard, it would be great for local consumers because the quality of locally assembled cars-as compared to CBU ones- has always been an issue in Pakistan.
MG HS Excite
The second one was the Base Variant (Excite). It is pertinent to mention that sources have told us that this variant may not be offered for sale any time soon. “The company has unveiled this variant to celebrate the start of local assembly,” the sources added. However, if we compare it with the base variants of other cars, i.e., KIA Sportage Alpha and Hyundai Tucson Base Variant, MG HS Excite has more safety features.
Although MG Pakistan has minus some specs and features in the base variant, it has not compromised on the safety features, meaning it is as safe as MG HS Essence. In the local market, the safety features have long been ignored, and this step by MG Pakistan is undoubtedly great. And that is why we still hope that the company will start selling this variant as it can become a hit.
Price of Locally Assembled MG HS
There is no information on the prices of these cars by the company at all. We hope that MG Pakistan will reveal the price of MG Essence soon because locally assembled MG HS will increase the consumers’ trust in the company. While, fingers crossed for MG HS Excite.
