Guess Which Changan SUV Is Launching In December?
There’s a story going around about a new Changan car coming to town. As per our sources, the company is gearing up to launch the Changan Oshan X7 SUV in December 2021.
If you remember, earlier this year, Changan Pakistan imported CBU units of a few of its international best-sellers for trials and testing. We spotted Changan UNI-T, Changan UNI-K, and Changan Oshan X7 on the roads of Pakistan and got excited about their launch.
Changan has done its homework with the three SUVs and decided to go with Oshan X7 for the official launch. We are not sure if the other two will be joining the club soon. For now, let’s warm up for the upcoming addition to the Pakistani SUV lineup.
International Specs & Features of Oshan X7
Engine and Transmission
Oshan X7 is powered by a Blue Core 1500cc turbocharged engine producing 178 hp at 5500 rpm and 245 Nm of torque at 4500 rpm. The two transmission options are a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT.
Exterior
A large hexagonal grille arranged with corrugated horizontal strips covers the front. These strips extend downwards from left to right. The headlights of the car are pretty sharp and sleek with built-in LED sources. The internal structure of the headlights is quite simple. Dimensions-wise, the car is 4705mm in length, 1860mm in width, and 1720mm in height with a wheelbase of 2780mm.
Coming to the side, a strong character line starts from the headlight and goes all the way to the rear lights. The roof design is pretty simple, with a straight line. The SUV runs on a set of 20-inch alloy wheels.
Interior
Oshan X7 has a multifunction steering wheel and power windows. The driver and passenger seats are ventilated, heated, and electrically adjustable. An LCD instrument panel with navigation and Bluetooth, immobilizer, keyless engine start, central lock, and electric trunk are some other interior highlights.
Safety
The car comes with driver, passenger, front, rear and side airbags. Other safety features include ABS + EBD, brake assist, panoramic camera, traction control, and hill start assist.
We haven’t heard about Changan importing more CBU units of Oshan X7, other than the test one. So, it’s safe to assume that the company will sell CKD units in the local market.
