“Choosing Elantra Over Corolla & Civic Was Worth It” – Owner’s Review
Welcome to another episode of PakWheels Owner’s Review series feat. Muzamil Hassan. Our friend Muzamil is a Pakistani YouTuber well-known for his “Thought Behind Things” podcast. Today, we are reviewing his new car, Hyundai Elantra, which he bought after thorough market research. Let’s see how satisfied the owner is with his decision to buy the Elantra as his first car.
Price & Purchase
The owner was previously driving a 2004 Toyota Corolla GLi, an almost 20 years old car. When he thought about upgrading to a newer model, his first pick was Changan Alsvin. But moved on from Alsvin when he saw the car at the dealership. Essentially, He wanted a safe car, and Alsvin, though it had great features, looked a bit fragile to him.
Then, he considered Toyota Yaris but soon found out that Yaris only had basic features that didn’t cut it for him. His next options were Toyota Corolla and 10th gen Honda Civic. But, honestly, he was too bored of seeing both these cars on the roads, and they didn’t excite him.
He wanted to try something new and solid at the same time. So, it all came down to Hyundai Elantra. He liked Elantra a lot for its looks, but the abundance of features sealed the deal for him. So, he went to the dealership to see the car and booked it right away for Rs. 3,913,000.
Engine
Elantra GLS has a powerful 2000cc engine perfect for a smooth ride every time. Even though the owner drives it in ECO mode, the engine does not feel sluggish and does a great job.
Fuel Average
The owner’s Elantra gives him a mileage of 10 to 11 kilometres per litre in the city and 13 to 14 km/L on the highway.
Key Features
Elantra has a lot of convenient features; some Muzamil knew before buying the car, some came as a surprise once he started driving the car. His favourite ones are:
- Cruise control with pause function
- Dual-zone automatic climate control with rear AC vents
- Apple CarPlay connectivity
- Smart Entry
- Automatic Headlights
- Automatic Wipers
- Fully adjustable seats
Minor Issues
Elantra does not have any major issues per se. The owner doesn’t like that the heavy doors are hard to close, the automatic windows don’t go up with one click of a button, and there is no place for fog lights.
Elantra would be of course better than 2004 Corolla. I don’t agree if it’s better than current Civic n Corolla. Good luck to buyer anyways .
Well not everyone can afford the luxury of trying out something new just for the sake of fun , I guess that is the reason that Corolla and Civic are still outselling Elantra.
Khurram Says : Most of cars buyers in Pakistan are like sheep and follow the herd and they cannot see anything other Honda City, Civic or Toyota Yaris or Corolla, these types car buyer do not use their brains given to them by Allah Tala but they just follow others like the deaf ,dumb and blind.
