In this article, we will share few of the myths which are popular about tires and are considered best ways to enhance the capacity and life expectancy of tires.

First on the list is that low air pressure means better road grip. However, this is entirely wrong even it is the other way around. If you keep the air pressure of the tire low than the recommendation, the grooves in the tread narrow themselves. It will make harder for the tire to capacitate its full power—meaning it would be difficult for the tire to bite car. The steering of the car might also become more hard and sturdy.

Moving onward, second on the list is that people say that it is good to keep air pressure on the tire low in summers. This is another myth which we will shatter today. Keeping the air pressure low than the recommended figure is not a good choice as the air inside the tire will expand, and the sidewalls flex inward as well as outward, making the air hot inside the tire. This is not good for the health of tire and will drastically decrease the life of the tire, and it will wear out quickly. Moreover, if the air pressure is low, the car has to use extra power, which leads to extra fuel consumption. So always maintain the air pressure no matter what.

Lastly on the list is the most common one and that is a cap on the filling nozzle stops the air from going out. This is also a myth, as the cap is only used to prevent particles of dust and water from entering the tire when it is being filled with air as water particles are harmful to the tires.
