E-Challans Will Now Be Sent on WhatsApp
The system of sending traffic e-challans through email is being discontinued, as authorities shift to delivering them directly via WhatsApp. With this change, citizens can check their challan details and view images instantly on their registered WhatsApp number.
Omer Khayyam Nagra, Director of Public Relations at Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA), informed our team that challans will be sent to the WhatsApp numbers registered in the excise records. Each WhatsApp message will carry a link for quick online payments, while payments can still be made through the Safe Cities website.
For individuals wishing to dispute a challan, a new “review” option has been added on the website. Citizens can submit their appeal online, after which the technical team will assess and update the challan if necessary.
The earlier method of relying on email has now been replaced with this updated system, which aims to make the entire process faster, simpler, and more user-friendly.
