Why do you need a vehicle forensic certificate?

If you want to purchase a used vehicle in Pakistan, it’s only safe for you to get the vehicle checked by the local police to make sure the automotive item is not stolen. The local authorities will review the police station records for your vehicle, verify through a Forensic Expert Report, and you’ll be good to go.

How to get a vehicle forensic certificate in Islamabad?

Islamabad Police has made it pretty easy for you to get a forensic clearance for your vehicle. Here’s how:

Documents Required

  • Your original CNIC
  • Original registration book of the vehicle
  • Photocopies of both items

Processing Fee

  • Rs. 300 for motorcycle
  • Rs. 1000 for other vehicles

Step-By-Step Process

  1. Visit the Forensic Science Laboratory with the above documents, and your vehicle, anytime between 8 am to 4 pm. Address: Police line Headquarters H-11/1, Islamabad
  2. Take the vehicle clearance application form from the lab, fill it, and submit along with the documents.

The Forensic Science Laboratory will run a physical examination of your vehicle and attest its engine and chassis number through different mediums. So, if your vehicle passes the forensic test, you’ll get it back on the same day and a signed clearance report on the next day.

However, if the vehicle is found to be tampered, cut, or weld, it won’t clear the test and will be handed over to the local police for further action.
