This year was an exciting year for the car market of Pakistan, as a number of new cars were launched in the country. The new vehicles included Toyota Yaris, Prince Pearl, Hyundai Tucson and MG HS, meaning the competition is increasing in the local market. The new entrants have increased the choices for local buyers as, after years, Pakistan got new vehicles except ‘Big Three’. Hence, we are hoping that the trend will continue and we will get more new cars in 2021.

Following is the list of the sedans and SUVs, which will potentially be launched in the country.

KIA Cerato:

KIA has undoubtedly emerged as the most dominated car player in Pakistan during 2020. With Sportage, it has captured the crossover SUV segment, and the company is planning to launch more models. In November this year, Cerato was spotted in KIA Lucky Motor’s 4-car convoy in Karachi. The reports have suggested that new sedan will hit the market in 2021. As per KIA Pakistan, the new sedan will have 1600cc engine, with 6-Speed Auto/Manual transmission.

Furthermore, the car will come with Automatic Front Headlights, Tilt and Telescopic Steering Column, Rear Trunk Light and Dual-Zone Automatic Climate Control. The company has also installed Rear Seat Heat Ducts, 8-inch touchscreen Infotainment System, Steering Wheel-Mounted Volume Controls and Cruise Controls, along with Forward Collision-Avoidance.

However, the company has not revealed the price of this upcoming sedan.

New Cars in 2021-Hyundai Elantra:

The second anticipated vehicle among new cars in 2021  is Hyundai Elantra, as earlier media reports suggested the Hyundai Nishat Motors will launch this car in first quarter of 2021. This will be another addition in the segment, dominated by Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla. If we talk about the engine, the South Korean manufacturers have introduced different engines as per the demand of the different global markets. However, the most common is 1600cc Naturally Aspirated engine, mated with 6-Speed Automatic Manual or 6-Speed Automatic Transmission.

Furthermore, the car will have Parking Sensors, Rear Camera, Cruise Control, and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System. The safety features of the new vehicle include 6 airbags, Hill Start Assist, Electric Stability Control and Emergency Stop Signals. If we come to the interior, it has Hyundai Bluelink Connectivity and Ventilated Front Seats.

As per reports, the price of the car would range between Rs3.6million to Rs4million.

Honda City:

Honda City is maybe the most awaited one for new cars in 2021  in Pakistan because Honda Atlas has not released a new generation of City in Pakistan since 2010. One must remember that Pakistan has 5th generation of City, which was discontinued in the international market, way back in 2014. As per reports, the company will launch the new model of this sedan in 2021. Meanwhile, the Japanese automaker launched the 7th generation in India this year. The car for India came with 1500cc engine, mated with 7-Speed CVT and 6-Speed Manual Transmission.

Furthermore, the car has LED headlamps, 16-inch alloy wheels on the exterior, while it has 8-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay, Alexa Remote Capability and Paddle shifters in the interior.

Now let’s come to the point whether Honda would launch 6th generation or 7th generation in Pakistan. There are mix news about this as some sources claimed that Honda would launch the latest 7th-generation. However, the import data shows that the company imported a CBU unit of 6th generation of City from Thailand. The data shows a Honda City “GM6” with 1500cc engine has arrived in the country. If Honda released the 6th generation, it means that we will get the vehicle, which also has been discontinued in international market last year.

So, fingers crossed, and wait for the launch of City, because we will get the new sedan by Honda; however, time will tell which generation we are getting.

The expected price of the new Honda City will be around Rs3 million.

Furthermore, the car has Smart Phone Feature, through which you can control different options of SUV remotely, including lock/unlock and location search. Meanwhile, it has 8 airbags, Electronic Brake Distribution, and Hill Assist Start.

New Cars in 2021-BAIC BJ40 Plus:

The Jeep-cum-SUV, BJ40 Plus,  would be another exciting addition in this category. Although there are no confirmed reports about its launch as yet, but we are hoping that Pakistan will get it in 2021. As per the company, the car will come with both petrol and diesel engines. However, both would be 2000cc. One of the best features of this car is that you can remove its doors, roof, and fold windscreen and turn it into a classic off-road jeep; in short, it is another Wrangler Jeep.

Furthermore,  the car has 11-inch infotainment floating screen, Sports+Snow driving modes, and soft rooftop. It also has a 3-view reverse camera, Cruise Control, Parking Brakes and coloured dashboard.

As per our sources, the price of this new entrant would be around Rs6million.
