Winter season is already upon us, and people are getting ready and buying new clothes and other accessories to face the season head-on. Winter tires are just same as regular tires. However, they are designed for use in winter and cold conditions. They help maintain the grip of the car without making the car slip. Apart from looking same, different kind of technology is used in making of winter tires. The winter tire has extra groves called Sipes, which helps the tire to bite the road and don’t let the car go out of control.
Moreover, these Sipes help the tire to squeeze their rubber into the road while negating anything which might interfere with the rubber road contact. It is a good function of Sipe as it will give liberty to the driver to drive the vehicle without worrying too much. Moreover, it works best on a snowy road. And also compared to regular tires, the winter tires after applying the brake on icy road stops quickly.
It is to be noted here that; one should always check the air pressure of winter tires as they are heavily depended on air pressure and if the air pressure of the tire is low; it means the road grip of a winter tire is low.
Aside from winter tires, People living in northern areas of Pakistan also uses chains on tires to give them good road grip. It is also another way to assure your safety on snowy roads. But, still, there are much back draws using chains on tires. One such problem is that if the chain is tightened loosely, it might come out and wraps around the drive axle of the car, causing damage to the car. People generally in Pakistan don’t know about winter tires and use the chain on tires to get road grip. And also brand new winter tires is very difficult to find in Pakistan. However, one can get second hand imported winter tires easily.
