Honda Motor Co. Ltd. recently revealed its plans to launch more than 30 electric vehicles by 2030 around the world. In an announcement, the company teased the release of two EV sports cars.

Honda has been struggling to shift to the electric vehicle market. The Japanese company has been left behind by its competitors like Toyota when it comes to becoming energy efficient. The conservative automaker has been slow to add EVs to its lineup but now it plans to catch up.

The company announced its plans to sell more than 500,000 electric vehicles in North America by 2030. It also teased the release of two EV sports cars in the near future though no tentative date was announced. The company called one car the “specialty” model and the other a “flagship” model.

The “Specialty Model”

The Specialty model seems to be taller with more front-engined proportions. The car seems to be a flashback to older models of sports cars and seems to have a traditionally sporty design.

The “Flagship Model”

The flagship model has a low-slung front. The body of the sports car is lower, longer, and situates the cabin forward. This appears similar to the Honda NSX in design.

These are simply speculations based on pictures shared by Honda. The cars will be initially launched in North America and Europe. Later, they will be available globally.
