- Drill machine with a ¼ inch drill

Properly Clean The Lid
As a first step, you should properly clean the lid to remove any dirt, debris, and contaminants. The soapy water and microfiber cloth can help you to remove dust easily. Afterward, gather all tools to ensure easy installation.
Open and Prepare The Trunk
Start by opening the trunk and examining the space under the trunk lid. Afterward, remove the hard panel covering the underside of the trunk by unscrewing the retaining clips. Set the retaining clips aside for reinstallation.
Decide Position of Spoiler
You should set the position of the rear spoilers onto the car’s trunk. Afterward, check where the mounting holes and adhesive strips will be aligned. The adhesive strips have a protective layer that prevents them from adhering to the surface prematurely.
Furthermore, the rear spoiler kit usually consists of plastic alignment guides. These guides have centering holes that should line up with the fastener opening over the car’s trunk. With this guide, you can easily ensure that the spoiler is positioned correctly and secured in the right place.
Align and Secure

Mark Drilling Spots
Use the punch tool to mark the drilling spots. Afterward, you should carefully remove the rear spoiler from the car trunk but you should not take off the alignment guides. It will help you to keep the drilling spots in the correct place. Drill the holes to approximately ¼ inch in diameter and then remove these guides. You can measure the size of holes by using screws.
Drill Through Trunk
Drill two punch marks through the spots marked on the trunk lid. Open the trunk and check if the holes are perfectly aligned.
Attach Spoiler
Use the screwdriver to tighten the screws through the car’s trunk lid. You should perform this task carefully. Afterward, close the trunk door. Remove the protective covering from the adhesive strips and place the spoiler along the length of the rail. Once again open the trunk to check the screws and to ensure the completion of a reliable installation.
Reinstall Fabric Panel
Cover the underside of the trunk lid with a hard fabric panel using the original clips. Some spoilers are designed to fit directly into the existing screw holes from factory spoilers using simple tools, while others may require advanced knowledge and tools.
