Finally, the wait is over as Hyundai Nishat Motors has announced the launch date of the much-awaited Hyundai Elantra. As per the company, new sedan will be released on March 21, 2021. This means, on coming Sunday, the local market would have a new sedan to compete with Toyota Corolla and Honda Civic.
Expected Price:
It is expected that Elantra will give a tough competition to its competitors, mainly due to its engine, safety features, shape and design. This would be the second sedan coming to Pakistan in the last four months. In December 2020, Changan launched Alsvin, which proved to be a success. The difference between Alsvin and Elantra is the price range. Alsvin’s price bracket ranges from Rs2.2million to Rs2.6million. Meanwhile, as per reports, Elantra will come with a cost ranging from Rs3.8milllion to Rs4million. It means that Elantra belongs to a rather executive class of sedans.
Expected Specs of Hyundai Elantra:
So far, the company has not revealed features and specs of the car officially. However, there are expectations and here are some of them.
It is pertinent to mention that Elantra could come with changed features, specs or options.
Engine and Transmission:
As per our sources, the company has decided to launch the new car with only one engine option. The sources told us, initially the Elantra would come with 2000cc I-4 Cylinder MPI engine, mated with 6-Speed Automatic Transmission.
Power of Hyundai Elantra:
According to reports, the engine would generate 154hp and 196Nm torque.
Alloy Wheels, Salient Features:
Expectedly, there will be 205/55/R16 Alloy wheels and most probably with locally manufactured tires. Electric power steering will be standard with tilt and telescopic function, while Cruise Control might also be among the offered features.
Safety Features of Hyundai Elantra:
We are expecting that the new Elantra will have electronic stability control and 2 front airbags. Furthermore, Traction control, hill start assist, Electronic Brake-force Distribution / EBD, Immobilizer can also come in the car. Meanwhile, Impact sensing auto door unlock can also make into PKDM version.
