Mahindra, the renowned Indian automotive giant, has once again pushed the boundaries of innovation with the debut of its electrifying creation – the Vision Thar.e concept. Revealed at the Futurescape event in South Africa on Independence Day 2023, the Vision Thar.e concept promises to revolutionize off-roading with its electric prowess. This remarkable concept envisions an electric version of the iconic Thar, giving a glimpse into the future of eco-friendly adventure.
The Exterior of Mahindra
The Vision Thar.e boasts an impressive 5-door design, setting it apart from its 3-door ICE counterpart. Its exterior exudes confidence, with an upright stance, bold geometrical cuts, and a commanding ground clearance. The front fascia is a blend of modernity and ruggedness, featuring a wide profile, LED lights, and Mahindra’s distinctive EV logo. The side profile is marked by sharp angles, a blacked-out A-pillar housing rearview cameras, and dual-tone alloy wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires. The rear is equally captivating, with square-shaped light elements surrounding the tail lamps and a prominent rear-mounted spare wheel.
The Interior of Mahindra
The Vision Thar.e’s interior is a symphony of style and functionality. The dashboard boasts a layered design with a tasteful gray and bronze color scheme. A large floating touchscreen display takes center stage, offering seamless access to various functions, while below it, climate control buttons await your command. The steering wheel, uniquely square-shaped, proudly displays the Thar.e logo and is adorned with backlit buttons. The driver’s cockpit features a floating digital display, providing essential information at a glance. A distinguishing element of the interior is the long center console, elegantly housing a cockpit-style gear lever and controls for drive modes, enhancing the driving experience.
Powertrain and Range
While the Vision Thar.e is currently a concept, the prospect of a production-ready model is on the horizon. Anticipated to be revealed by 2026, this electric marvel could potentially carry a price tag of Rs 25 lakh (ex-showroom). It is expected to feature an AWD electric powertrain, delivering an impressive 400km range and promising hours of electrified adventures.
