MG Cyberster in Pakistan – Exclusive First Look Review
MG Cyberster is an all-electric roadster that made its debut with an exciting combination of sporty design and advanced EV technology. MG produced its last two-door car in 2010, and after a 14-year gap, the Cyberster has launched. MG, being a British brand under the management of SAIC, has brought different models to Pakistan all these years, and time will find out that displaying Cyberster at the Pakistan Auto Show is just a power show or an anticipation of a new model launch in the country.
Exterior
The exterior of the MG Cyberster is where retro meets futuristic. Taking cues from classic MG roadsters, the Cyberster features a low-slung body with a sleek, aerodynamic design that exudes speed even when standing still. 100th Anniversary badging points to the success of the MG brand. Multi-spoke rims with Brembo brakes exude further sportiness.
The front features sleek, angular, single-point LED headlights and DRLs that flow into the sculpted bodywork, while the rear is marked by sharp, distinctive taillights shaped like arrows. One of the standout features is the “Kammback” tail, a design element that reduces drag and enhances the Cyberster’s performance. The retractable soft-top roof allows for open-air driving, adding to the thrill of cruising in this electric roadster. What we loved the most were its scissor doors, which can be operated from 5 orientations.
Interior
The MG Cyberster screams green as the use of vegan leather and recycled plastic is more than you think. The cockpit is driver-focused, with digital displays and high-tech controls that create an immersive driving experience. The steering wheel is uniquely designed with a “yoke” shape. A grip handle, center console Bose sound system, energy calculator, digital speedometer, pedal shifters, regenerative braking, and a non-conventional gear selector are some of the highlights of the cabin. Other standouts are its 14-point ADAS features, launch control, and regenerative braking.
Engine and Power
Cyberster offers two variants: an all-wheel drive and a rear-wheel drive system. Its 77kW battery, which can deliver 500+ HP and 700+ torque, shows magnificent speed and power. It covers 0- 100 km in 3.2 seconds, which shows its quick dynamics. Furthermore, it comes with a 144kWh charger, which can charge 10-80% in 45 minutes.
