MG HS Locally Assembled Variants – A Comparison
MG Pakistan has finally revealed the locally assembled units of MG HS today. The name of Base Variant is Excite, the top variant is called Essence. Meanwhile, the third variant, with Digital Speedometer, is called Excellence and will continue to be sold as CBU vehicle.
After the reveal, the first question comes in mind is the differences between two CKD variants. So, here are the differences between these vehicles for you. In easy words, we will tell you the specs and features which are absent in the Base variant because the CKD top variant (Essence) is a copy of MG HS CBU (without speedometer), meaning it has all the specs and features of CBU vehicle.
Exterior:
The Base variant has Projector headlights and they are not dynamic. The size of its Alloy Wheels is 17-inch as compared to 18-inch in Essence. The Rear Lights in both cars are LED, however, they are not dynamic in the Base one.
Interior:
The MG Pakistan has only offered Black Interior with Red Stitching in the Base variant. Furthermore, the Driver + Passenger Seats are not Powered, however, they can still be adjusted manually.
The Climate Control in Base Variant is Digital but not Dual, while the Leatherette on Steering Wheel is relatively of low quality. There are no Paddle Shifters and Super Sport Button in the Base variant.
And finally, there is no Panoramic Sunroof and Ambient Interior Light in the Base variant.
As mentioned earlier, the top CKD variant is the copy of MG HS CBU (without Digital Speedometer). The comparison shows that there are handful differences between these two locally assembled compact SUVs.
Most importantly, starting local assembly is a huge positive step for MG Pakistan because it will not only resolve the issues of late deliveries for the company but also increase the trust of the consumers on the company.
Important Note:
As per our sources, MG Pakistan has not revealed the price of Base variant and it is possible that it would not be offered for sale. The sources told us that the MG Pakistan has unveiled this variant to celebrate the start of its local assembly and that is why there were a number of signatures of MG officials and employees on its exterior.
We wish Best of Luck to MG Pakistan and congratulate on starting local assembly of its cars.
