MG HS PHEV vs. Haval ‘Celebrity Choice’ H6 HEV
If you want BMW X5-like driving comfort and Audi Q5-like flashy cockpit but in a 1.2 crore package, the Haval H6 HEV seems the only brand-new option you have in Pakistan. This Chinese mid-size SUV, which is basically a crossover and not an SUV; you can’t call a 1.5-liter engine an SUV, is currently the lone wolf in the Pakistani market.
The bold stylings and hi-tech features that this Chinese crossover offers, which no Korean or Japanese brands have to offer in the market, might be the reason why so many YouTubers and Instagram celebrities’ first choice is this H6.
Although Hyundai Santa Fe seems like a good Korean contender, H6 outshines due to its lower price and lavish interior stylings, which look way better than Santa Fe’s interior, which is basically just a redesign of Hyundai Tucson’s interior.
However, now it seems like H6 has another contender: the MG HS PHEV. As you read the name, it’s a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle with a 1.5-liter engine. Sit inside either car, and both will give you a German-like luxury aura. Built quality-wise, both cars are 10/10 with no inferior part quality and no cheap feel in the interior and exterior.
Both cars are hybrid and have the same price category, so let’s just compare it 1-1:

Here are performance and power figures of both cars:

Conclusion
In our POV, both cars are great value for money and offer solid features for the price, especially if you consider what Big3 is offering in the 1.2 crore package.
HS PHEV has an edge for plug-in electric batteries, which means its EV range and fuel economy will be better than the H6; otherwise, both cars look good to us. One more thing is the resale, H6 HEV is already performing well in the market and has got a good resale, mainly due to celebrity’s choice.
The MG HS PHEV is also a good choice, but it will take some time to reach the resale value of H6. Both cars are 10/10 from our side.
What was the point of Writing ‘Celebrity Choice’ with H6 HEV. Are you guys being paid by Haval or something. You are literally giving unnecessary favour to Haval from the past months.
Please do unbiased comparisons, you have given undue favor in haval’s favor, state facts as is, it should be the reader to decide for themselves:
1. Maximum power of MG: 160 + 120 = 280HP, kindly correct.
2. Haval does not do “MAYBE” 10-15 km ON EV mode, pure hybrids dont go that much (1.8 kWh battery of H6 HEV vs 16.6 kWh for HS PHEV, hence the PLUG-IN).
3. PHEVs have a HUGE advantage over HEVs, especially in city driving.
4. Lastly, they have a HUGE pricing gap, H6 is 12 Million vs 9.5 Million for HS PHEV, a difference of 2.5 Million which is, again, HUGE
