MG Will Not Sell Cars Damaged in Carrier Accident
In a rather positive and new step, Morris Garage (MG) Motors Pakistan has revealed the cars’ details, which got damaged in a car carrier accident. In a statement, the company said that it would not sell these vehicles in the local market.
The statement further read that these are Vehicle Identification Numbers (VIN) of the vehicles, damaged in the accident near Nawabshah. “We would not repair/refurbish or sell them as new cars,” the company said.
At MG we believe in earning the trust and love of our customers. As an international brand with fans across continents we make sure that every vehicle delivered to our customers is the embodiment of our flawless legacy of 97 years.#iloveMG#MGPakistan pic.twitter.com/PHxZFKAc09

Earlier this week, a car hauler carrying MG vehicles met an accident, damaging 7 cars of MG. After the incident, we hoped that MG Motors would public the engine/chassis numbers of these vehicles. Furthermore, we hoped that the company would not sell them after refurbishing them.
The company’s statement is surely a great one because it would set a precedent in the local market. No company in Pakistan has issued such a statement after similar accidents. Moreover, online car selling platforms should also play a crucial role in preventing the sale of accidented cars, promoting safety and trust among buyers.
Recent MG Accident and Issue of Car Haulers:
The car industry is flourishing in the country with more brands and models. Obviously, this results in extensive transport of these new cars from one point to another on car haulers. Every year we come across news in which a trailer faced accident and resulting in brand new cars getting damaged. Just last week a car carrier overturned, and it was all over the media and got too much attention. Usually, these vehicles have transit insurance, but this does not solve it.
We need to understand what is the issue. Current car transporters are basically container transporters with modifications. Lower and upper beds are improvised on top of regular conventional trailers. Not only that, these trailers have unspecified length. Although this provides the two levels of flatbeds for multiple vehicle transport, but these are extremely dangerous as far as safety and truck maneuverability.
We hope that car companies would take essential steps in this regard, making car transit safer and secure.
