Nissan recalling 320,000 vehicles
One of Japan’s biggest auto manufacturer Nissan is once again in hot waters. The company is recalling almost 320,000 vehicles in Japan to fix coating problem of the electronic power unit which may catch fire if not properly coated. According to Japan’s Transport Ministry till now eight car owners have filed a report of short circuit and fire from the defective coating of the electronic power unit. Nissan Motors has recalled six different models which include Serena minivans and vans manufactured for Suzuki and Mitsubishi.
It is pertinent to mention here that the recall will not affect Nissan cars outside Japan. As mentioned above this is not the first time Nissan is facing problems, in the same year a few months back, the company halted its production in Japan.

Nissan halted its production on all six of its production plants for two weeks to look into the matter of misconduct in the final inspection procedure of its cars. The company made this big decision after the transport ministry of Japan revealed that it had discovered that uncertified technicians at Nissan’s production plant used the official stamp of certified technicians to conclude the final inspection of the vehicles.
The previous few months have proved to be a disastrous one for Nissan as scandals keep popping out of thin air. Not only Nissan but another Japanese automaker, Honda also recalled 900,000 vehicles after it received reports of injuries due to the problem in the seat of its cars. The reports stated that after applying the brake, the seats in the second row tipped forward if not latched properly, causing major injuries.
Not just Japanese automakers, German automaker BMW was also in peril a few months back. It also recalled all its 2014-18 i3 electric vehicles.
The ongoing year surely proved to be a disastrous one for automakers around the world. Hoping that the coming year benefits them.
