Oshan X7 FutureSense ⚡ Honda Civic RS – A Comparison

Changan Oshan X7 and Honda Civic are the fresh additions in the local market; the first one is a crossover SUV while the latter is a sedan. The X7 is launched in two variants, Comfort and FutureSense, while Civic is arrived in three variants, i.e., Standard, Oriel, and RSIn this article, we are going to compare the top-of-the-line variants of both vehicles, Oshan X7 FutureSense and Civic RS. 

Dimensions 

The crossover SUV is 4730mm Long, 1870mm Wide, and 1720mm High, while in comparison, the sedan has a Width of 4673mm, Length of 1801mm, and Height of 1415mm. Not so surprisingly, X7 is longer, wider, and higher than its competitor. 

Both cars have a 5-person seating capacity. The X7 is a C+ Segment crossover, and RS is a C Segment sedan. 

Engine and Transmission 

 X7 has a 1.5L TGDI Euro-6 Engine with a displacement of 1499cc, 185hp, and 300Nm Torque. In comparison, the engine in Civic is 1.5L i-Vtec DOHC with a displacement of 1498cc, 176hp, and 220Nm Torque. The comparison shows that X7 is more powerful than RS. 

If we compare the transmissions, the crossover has 7-Speed DCT Auto against CVT in the sedan. Furthermore, X7 has four Drive Modes, i.e., Eco, Comfort, Sport, and Custom, compared to three in Civic, i.e., Eco, Normal, and Sport. Lastly, Changan’s car has Start/Stop Technology, which is absent in Honda’s sedan. 

Exterior

The Headlights in X7 are Bi-Beam Projector compared to LED ones in Civic, while the DRLs in both cars are LED. The Taillights comparison shows that X7 has Infinity LED ones against Lens Type in Civic. 

The Alloy Wheels size in X7 is 19-inch against 17-inch in the Civic. Meanwhile, both vehicles have Electronically Foldable and Heated Side View Mirrors. The Trunk in X7 is Powered, while it is Manual in Honda’s car. Both cars have Smart Key and Trunk Opener option,. Finally, X7 has a Panoramic Sunroof compared to a simple Sunroof in Civic. 

Interior

The Seat Material in X7 is Perforated FAUX Leather compared to Leather in the Civic. The Driver and Passenger Seats in the crossover are 6-Way Powered, while Civic has 6-Way Manual Driving and 4-Way Manual Passenger Seat, a clear edge to X7 in this comparison. 

Also, the Driver and Passenger Seats in X7 are Heated and Ventilated, and its competitor does not offer these. Coming to AC, the crossover offers Auto Climate Control compared to Dual Zone Climate Control in Civic. Both cars provide Rear AC vents and Steering Media Controls. 

The size of the Meter Cluster in X7 is 7-inch Digital LCD compared to 7-inch TFT LCD in Civic. And last but not least, the X7 has a 10.25-inch Infotainment Touchscreen with Human Machine Interference compared to 9-inch Touchscreen with Voice Command. 

Safety and Comfort 

The number of Airbags in X7 is 4, while Civic offers only 2. Both cars offer Forward Collision Warning, Auto Emergency Braking, Smart Proximity Entry, ABS + EBD + BA, Traction Control, Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold and Immobilizer. 

Meanwhile, X7 has a 360-Degree Camera compared to Rear Camera with Dynamic Guidelines in Civic. And the additional features in crossover SUV are Data Recorder, Onboard Diagnostic System, Front + Rear Parking Sensors, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), and Hill Descent Control. This means X7 is safer and more secure than its competitor. 

Price

 Changan has launched Changan X7 FutureSense in Rs. 5,950,000, while the rate of Honda Civic RS is Rs. 6,149,000.
