AuVitronics Limited, manufacturer of auto parts in Pakistan, is all set to export a car part to Toyota Motor Vietnam Company Limited (TMV), becoming a part of Toyota’s international supply network. The mentioned part will be installed in rear side of front bumper cover in upcoming model of the car. The development comes after Indus Motors Company (IMC) requested Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) to allow AuVitronics to export Absorber FR Bumper to Vietnam as the country is using same Toyota Corolla Model as Pakistan.
The part has been approved after rigorous testing and quality checks, IMC said, adding the piece is made with Expanded Polypropylene (EPP).
In a statement, IMC CEO Ali Asghar Jamali said the company has been striving for progress and development of Pakistan’s automobile industry for last 30 years. Jamali said the company has fulfilled its vision of promoting engineering and auto industry of the country.
IMC, along with a local supplier, reduced development lead time to half to meet TMV’s strict timelines,
The CEO further said that after becoming a part of global supply chain of TMC, Indus Motors will strive to establish a more significant industrial base of Pakistan internationally. “The company has already assisted local vendors in signing 30 contracts with foreign companies,” he said.
He also said consistency in government policies is essential for success of automobile industry. “The federal government should introduce growth-oriented policies and nurture the local industry,” he said, further adding that this is the only way to turn long term export objective into a reality.
Meanwhile, CEO, AuVitronics Limited, Syed Abbas-ul-Hussaini said it is a great honour for Pakistan to become a part of Toyota’s international supply chain. “It is the start of a new era for local auto industry as it has opened new export markets for the sector,” he said.
Furthermore, Vice Chairman Auto Engineering, House of Habib, Muhammad Tayyab Tareen, said as exports are essential for growth a country; hence, this is a step in the right direction.
Being the largest global automobile manufacturers, TMC follows a lean production method called Toyota Production System (TPS). The system has also become an essential part of its global supply chain in recent years.
