President Erdogan gifts EV Togg T10X to PM Shehbaz

During his two-day trip to Islamabad this week, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan presented Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari with a model of Turkey’s domestically produced electric car.

Erdogan handed over the Togg T10X to Sharif, and a video captured the two leaders inspecting the sleek black exterior of the SUV. In the footage, Sharif is seen taking the driver’s seat, with Erdogan sitting beside him as the Pakistani prime minister took the vehicle for a spin.

Togg T10X

Power & Performance

TOGG T10X showcases impressive performance metrics with a maximum power output of 160 kW (218 HP) and a torque of 350 Nm across all variants. This robust power enables the vehicle to achieve a top speed of 185 km/h.

The acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h is swift, taking 7.4 seconds for two of the variants and slightly longer at 7.8 seconds for the third. The range varies between 314 km and 523 km under the WLTP cycle, depending on the model, with energy consumption rates of 16.7 kWh/100 km for the shorter-range variants and 16.9 kWh/100 km for the longer-range version.

    If these are personal gifts to these two, that should be made clear by the government of Türkiye in an official public statement to the people of Pakistan in true democratic fashion. I’m sure our current crop of leaders, who consider themselves the true “champions of democracy” in Pakistan, will appreciate and welcome such a move.

    Otherwise, these are official gifts from the President of Türkiye to the President and Prime Ministers of Pakistan and should be treated as such.
