Keeping our comparison series continue, we are going to compare Proton Saga 1.3L Standard MT, with Changan Alsvin 1.3L Comfort Manual variant. The Saga was launched today, while Alsvin was officially released in Pakistan in January 2021. So, the comparison of both new entrants should be interesting.
Engine and Transmission:
Proton is offering 1299cc Inline 4-Cylinder DOHC VVT engine in Saga, which generates 95hp and 120Nm torque, while Changan Alsvin comes with 1370cc Inline 4-Cylinder MPFI DOHC DVVT engine with 99hp and 135Nm torque, giving a clear edge to the latter. Meanwhile, both cars have 5-Speed Manual Transmission.
Exterior:
Proton has installed Halogen Headlamps in its car, while Alsvin comes with Projector Headlamps with Electric Adjustment. Further, Saga doesn’t have DRLs, while Changan’s sedan has LED ones, while both cars don’t have Fog Lamps. Coming to wheels, Alsvin has 15-inch Alloy Wheels, while Saga is launched with 14-inch Steel Wheels.
Interior:
Alsvin is launched with Electronic Power Steering, while Saga has Hydraulic Power Steering in it. Meanwhile, Saga has Standard Audio System, while Changan has installed 7-inch Floating Display in its sedan. The Seat Material in Saga in Fabric, while Alsvin comes with Faux Leather Seats.
Safety:
Both cars have Dual Airbags, ABS + EBD, Brake Assist and Rear Parking Sensors. Meanwhile, Alsvin has Reverse Camera as an additional features. Meanwhile, both cars don’t have Hill Start Assist, Traction Control, Electronic Stability Control, and Front Parking Sensors, making them quite equal in the safety features section.
Price:
The current price of Alsvin 1.3L Comfort MT is Rs2,199,000, while Proton Saga has been launched with price tag of Rs1,975,000, making the newly-launched car around Rs200,000 cheaper than the Alsvin.
