Here’s The Winner Of Saga vs Yaris Face Off

In this article, we are going to compare Proton Saga Standard Manual Transmission (MT) variant with Toyota Yaris GLI MT 1.3L variant. The Saga is new entrant in the local market, meanwhile, Yaris has been dominating the compact sedan category for around a year. The car was launched by Toyota in March 2020, and has recorder higher sales than Honda Civic and Honda City, combined during multiple months.

Engine and Transmission: 

Proton Saga comes with 1299cc Inline 4-Cylinder DOHC VVT engine, which generates 91hp and 120 Nm torque. On the other hand, Toyota has installed inline 1332cc 4-Cylinder DOHC Dual VVT with 97hp and 123 Nm torque, making the latter a winner in this category. Meanwhile, both cars have 5-Speed Manual Transmission.

Exterior:

Saga comes with Halogen Headlamps, while Yaris has 4-Beam Halogen Headlamps as both cars don’t have DRLs and Fog Lamps in them. Furthermore, Saga has 14-inch steel wheels, while Yaris comes with 15-inch Steel Wheels in them.

Interior: 

Coming to interior, you will notice that both cars have Power Windows, Standard Audio Systems. Meanwhile, Saga has Hydraulic Power Steering, as Yaris has Electronic Power Steering in it.

Safety: 

Both sedans have 2 airbags, ABS + EBD, and Brake Assist. Meanwhile, Yaris has additional features like Traction Control, Hill Start Assist, Front Parking Sensors, and Electronic Stability Control. Meanwhile, Saga has Rear Parking Sensors as an extra features, which Yaris doesn’t offer.

Both cars don’t have feature of Reverse Camera in them.

Price:

The price of Saga Standard 1.3L MT is Rs1,975,000, while the current price of Toyota Yaris GLI 1.3L MT is Rs2,509,000, making Saga Rs5,34,000 cheaper than its competitor. This could be a deciding factor for sales of Proton Saga.
