Rawalpindi and Islamabad to get tour buses this week

The Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation (PTDC) will be finally launching sightseeing bus service in twin cities, Islamabad and Rawalpindi, on Dec 20. The project was announced back in January 2017. And now on December 20th, the project is finally going to be materialized.

The main aim of this new initiative is to promote tourism in both cities and to enhance the existing tourism facilities. According to Pakistan Tourism Development Corporation, the special discount package will be offered to students to give them a chance to view the historic sites of both cities. Nine buses will be launched initially and more buses will be inducted into the project as the time goes on.

The authorities have met private school organization in the regard and received appraisal from them for this project. Moreover, the authorities have also finalized the tour points for this new endeavour, the buses will cover the following prominent tour points among others,

  • Faisal Mosque
  • Shakarparian
  • Islamabad Zoo
  • Lok Versa
  • Daman e Koh
  • F9 Park
  • Lakeview Park
  • Ayub Park
  • Taxila Museum

PTDC is expecting a large turnover on the very first day as according to them a large number of locals are eagerly waiting for the buses to start functioning. The authority has also claimed that the buses would be equipped with state of the art facilities. Moreover, the inauguration ceremony of these buses will be held at Pakistan China Centre.

The ongoing month should be considered well for the locals of Rawalpindi as well as for the city itself because a few days back the local government has announced a new parking plaza in the city to curb the parking problem and now this new tourism project.

Furthermore, the Government of Punjab has added another route to its tourism bus service in Lahore, and that is Wagah Border. Now tourists can reach to the border and watch the iconic parade without any hassle.
