Suzuki Every vs. Changan Karvaan | Hardcore Competition
Today is a remarkable day in Pakistan’s automotive industry, especially for low-budget car consumers and commercial vehicle owners. After 43 years, Suzuki has introduced the all-new Every 660cc in Pakistan. We’ve been hearing this news of Every launch since 2022, and after two years, it’s here today.
In our local market, Changan Karvaan is the only competitor of Every that we spot. Prices are almost equal, and both cars fall under the minivan category. Here’s the comparison of both vehicles, unbiased and honest:
- Changan Karvaan Price: Rs. 3.0 million (top variant)
- Suzuki Every Price: Rs.2.799 million (top VXR variant)
Changan Karvaan | Motorway Cruiser
Introduced in 2018, Karvaan has been the most commonly used minivan for commercial intercity travel by private drivers. You can call it a lite version of Toyota Hiace. It has good AC, with back AC vents, and good enough seats for 100-200 km rides. Under the seat is a 1.2-liter engine and soft suspension that outputs 119 Nm of torque and 72 HP of power.
Now, Karvaan has made its space the #1 choice for private drivers who serve private intercity traveling services on GT road and motorway. And it was expected because Karvaan is the lone wolf with no competition. A 1200cc engine, good AC, and six seaters on stock, that’s all you want in a small minivan for city-to-city travel.
Suzuki Every | #1 School Pickup Van
Suzuki Every, although it falls under the same category as Karvaan, is not what you think. Both cars have almost different market targets and are opposite to each other. Every, being a dinky 660cc minivan with four seating capacities in stock and no back AC vents, cannot become a vehicle that can carry passengers and do city-to-city traveling.
We predict that Suzuki Every will become the preferred choice for local city commercial works, including school pick-up and drop-off, cargo delivery, and government offices like Wapda and SuiGas.
That’s the tiny 660cc engine, so its fuel economy will be much better than that of the Bolan, and it will have better interior capacity. Hence, we predict its future use will be mostly for school pick-and-drop purposes as well as other local city commercial tasks we mentioned above.
Plus, safety- wise, Every has got 2 airbags, ABS, EBD. and anti-pinch windows, so that’s kudos to Suzuki for thinking about the safety.
Interesting fact: Although Every has a smaller engine than Bolan, power-wise, it’s more powerful than Bolan, which has 37 HP, and Every, which has 43HP. So, Every is more powerful than Bolan in every comparison.

Another insanely high price ” Dabba” to empty nation’s pocket for the next 50 year’s, what a pity.
My comments are sentiment based of what a buyer will think. There is no doubt that the Japanese cars have more reliability than any car company in the world and their 660 cc engines are well proven in Pakistan as well with major parts already available even in 2nd hand markets like Bilal Gunj , Sultan ta Khoo etc. So for Reliability and ease of maintenance, a potential buyer will certainly look at the Suzuki variant above the Chinese one. Changan on the other hand in specs seems to be a better option than that of the Suzuki, but they have to work hard on the perception an authorize small local vendors to product their parts at competitive prices. This is their only chance to compete and change the perception that maintenance is hard on Chinese cars/
