Dimensions
Alsvin is 173 inches long, 68 inches wide, and 59 inches tall. Swift is 151 inches long, 68 inches wide, and 60 inches tall. The two cars have the same width and height. But Alsvin being a sedan, is longer than Swift by 22 inches.
Engine & Transmission
Alsvin’s top-of-the-line variant has a bigger engine than Swift’s. Alsvin Lumiere comes with a 1496cc MPFI Euro-5 engine that produces 105 horsepower and 145 Nm of torque. Swift DLX comes with a 1197cc K-Series VVT engine that produces 81 horsepower and 113 Nm of torque.
Transmission-wise, Alsvin Lumiere has a 5-speed DCT gearbox, whereas Swift has CVT. Alsvin Lumiere is more powerful than Swift DLX.
Exterior
Suzuki Swift GLX has LED projection headlights with automatic adjustment, whereas Alsvin Lumiere has halogen projection headlights with electronic adjustment. Both cars’ headlights have integrated LED DRLs. Swift GLX has LED rear combination lamps and halogen fog lamps at the front. Alsvin Lumiere also has LED rear combination lamps with integrated fog lights.
Both cars have electrically adjustable side view mirrors. The difference is these mirrors are electrically retractable in Swift GLX and non-retractable but heated in Alsvin Lumiere. Swift GLX offer smart keyless entry, whereas Alsvin Lumiere has conventional keyless entry.
Swift comes with 16-inch alloy wheels, whereas Alsvin Lumiere has 15-inch alloy wheels. Swift GLX has a rear wiper. Alsvin Lumiere has a sunroof.
Exterior-wise, both cars are at par. Alsvin Lumiere’s sunroof is a plus.
Interior
Swift GLX has push start and Multi-Information Display (MID), Alsvin Lumiere does not. Power steering in both cars has tilt adjustment and media control buttons; Swift’s steering also has telescopic adjustment. Swift GLX has high-grade fabric seats, whereas Alsvin Lumiere has faux leather seats. The driver’s seat is height adjustable in Swift GLX, not in Alsvin Lumiere.
Swift GLX has an automatic air conditioning system. Alsvin Lumiere has manual climate control. Moreover, Swift GLX has a 9-inch Android infotainment screen, whereas Alsvin Lumiere has a 7-inch floating Human Machine Interface (HMI).
Alsvin Lumiere has a better interior than Swift GLX.
Safety
Both cars have ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System) and EBD (Emergency Braking Distribution). Other common safety features include an immobiliser, reverse camera, rear parking sensors, and cruise control.
Swift GLX is safer than Alsvin Lumiere with features like Vehicle Stability Control, Traction Control, Hill Start Assist, and six airbags (two in Alsvin Lumiere). Alsvin Lumiere has ISOFIX child seat anchors and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS); Swift does not.
Price
Suzuki Swift GLX CVT has a price tag of Rs. 2,899,000. Changan Alsvin Lumiere comes at a price of Rs. 2,939,000.

I would go for Swift, firstly, the vehicle is Suzuki, secondly, the tax rate for a 1.5L engine is more than double the rate applicable over a 1.2L engine. Thirdly, Swift is bound to be more fuel efficient than Alsvin since its engine is weighed down by a long body. Lastly, Alsvin’s long-term durability still needs to be proven.
