New Swift Under Review: So Many Feature Upgrades, One Mistake

0 11,628

Pak Suzuki launched the new 4th generation Suzuki Swift about two months ago. The new “premium hatchback” came in three variants: Swift GL ManualSwift GL CVT, and Swift GLX CVT. Back then, the price range of three variants was Rs. 26 to 29 lacs. Now, the prices have gone up to Rs. 27.7 to 33 lacs.

We did a detailed first look review of Suzuki Swift at the time of its launch. From exterior to interior, power, safety, and price, we reviewed the car from all angles. This time, we’ll tell you the good and bad things about this car from an expert’s eye.

Let’s talk about the positives first.

✔️ Six Airbags

This was the most surprising thing about the new Swift and still is. We are still in awe of how Suzuki went from zero airbags in the last Swift to a houseful of six airbags in the new model. Kudos to Pak Suzuki for doing it right and setting an example for other companies.

✔️ Premium Features

Another pleasant surprise has been the feature upgrades in the new Swift. From telescopic adjustable leather steering to cruise control, engine push start, reverse camera, parking sensors, three-tier instrument cluster, 9-inch Android infotainment screen, and digital climate control, Suzuki has one-upped its competition.

✔️ Fuel Average

Although the new Swift model has a smaller engine than the old model, this one has a better fuel average. CVT variants have a decent mileage of 14 to 15 kilometres in the city.

✔️ Beautiful Rims

The new Suzuki Swift looks modern from every side, but the 16-inch two-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels capture the eyes and take the overall look to the next level.

Let’s move on to the negatives about this car.

❌ 3 Million+ Price

Everyone thought the new Suzuki Swift was overpriced when it cost Rs. 26 to 29 lac. Now that the rates have gone up to Rs. 27.7 to 33 lacs, the prices make absolutely no sense. Yes, Swift has come a long way from being an economy hatchback to a premium hatchback. But it’s still not worth 3 million+ rupees. Sorry, Suzuki, we have to put our foot down here.

❌ Plastic Interior

Suzuki did a great job with all the feature upgrades but missed the mark on one thing: interior quality. The cheap plastic interior is such a turn-off, and you can’t excuse this just because it’s a Suzuki car. If you are paying 3 million+ rupees for a hatchback, you’d expect better quality than this.
