Toyota Land Cruiser 2022 Pictures LEAKED – Expected Specs & Features
Social media is abuzz as pictures of the Toyota Land Cruiser 2022 have been leaked. In the pictures, the upcoming vehicle can be seen parked at a shipping yard in a foreign country. In the first photo, you can see the front of the car, while in the second photo, the SUVs are being transported, revealing their rear.
Expected Engine:
The big news, which is still not official, but expected is the death of V8 power. Toyota will put the 4.6LV8 and 5.7LV8 gasoline engines currently in LC; rest in peace.
The replacement engines will be a naturally aspirated 3.5L V6 Hybrid [ possible 8GR-FXS] similar to the flagship, Lexus LS 500h hybrid sedan. The other viable engine option can be a 3.5L twin-turbo V6 [ V35A-FTS ] as in the regular non-hybrid model LS500. In the LS500h sedan, the power is 354hp, while the TT V6 makes around 416hp. Expect around same numbers under Land Cruiser.
The car will also be available in diesel format in certain markets. The new engine will be a 3.3L V6. Meanwhile, the Hybrid would be an ECVT while the turbo variant might come with a 10-Speed Automatic, and both engine variants will be available with the power to 4 wheels.
Exterior:
The pictures only show the exterior, revealing that the flagship SUV has an upright front with a wide and rectangular front grille. Furthermore, it has rectangular headlights and a vent-like trim section around the main grille’s lower edges. The bold double-edged bonnet is also visible along with a shallow C-Pillar link and trapezoidal-like wheel arches.
Meanwhile, you can see that side view mirrors are mounted on doors instead of windows, potentially increasing the car’s aerodynamics. At the rear, there are high-mounted wrapped around taillights and upright, one-piece flat tailgate. As per reports, the wheels size will start from 17-inch and go up to 20-inch alloy rims.
Interior:
Along with the engine, there are strong rumours that interior of the vehicle will also be changed. As per reports, the car will have a 12-13 inches infotainment system with satellite navigation, a 7-inch digital display in instrument cluster, along with a leather-trimmed surface and metallic switchgear.
Safety Features:
As per sources, the SUV will have a full suite of safety features, including adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane centering assist, automatic high beams and traffic sign recognition.
Int’l Launch and Arrival in Pakistan:
The rumours have it that Toyota will launch it in the global market next month. Meanwhile, we have to wait for around one-and-a-half to two years for its local launch. It means the local market will not have this car before the end of 2022 or the start of 2023.
