Where dolarisation and the sorry sight of the rupee in free fall has created poor images of Pakistan auto industry, international industry is booming with new cars. After Suzuki’s all-new Alto in India, Toyota Yaris 2023 is ready to make the debut next Month.
The 4th generation Yaris 2023 will be unveiled on August 9, 2023, for the South Asia markets. However, in Pakistan, our Toyota Yaris belongs to the 3rd generation – below the premium sedan named Toyota Corolla.
New Sedan simply sits on the DNGA platform – a version of the renowned TNGA platform, used by several economy cars.
Styling
The Japanese car giant also revealed the official image of the car. A series of teasers exhibiting the new Yaris sedan has translated many elements regarding exterior design and interior styling.
Headlights, front grille and the air intakes narrates the simple story – borrowed the cues from Asia-Pacific-spec 12th generation Toyota Corolla.
Engine
Details have revealed that the new generation Yaris is likely to come with 1.2 Litre petrol variant as well as 1.5 Litre hybrid variant. Former variant will be able to make 7 horsepower (hp) and 108 Newton-meters (Nm) of torque. And; the later hybrid variant will produce 91 hp, and 120 Nm of torque with the electric motor carrying the capacity to produce 80 hp and 141 Nm of torque.
All-New Alto Launching in India
Maruti Suzuki will launch all-New Alto in the second half of next month. As per Indian media reports, the third generation of the best-selling car “Alto” will come with an all-new powertrain and platform.
Engine
New Alto is expected to get 2 engine options including:
- Naturally aspirated K10C 1000cc 3-cylinder petrol engine carries the capacity to produce 66 horsepower and 89 Newton-meters of torque.
- Naturally aspirated 800cc petrol engine producing 57 hp and 69 Nm of torque.
It is pertinent to mention that both engines are mated with a 5-speed manual or an automatic (AGS or CVT) gearbox.
