Today we’re back with the owner’s review of Video Wali Sarkar’s Tesla Model S. This particular car is the mid-spec variant of the Model S known as 75D. It comes with a 75 kWh lithium-ion battery with a dual-motor setup running each axle. This powertrain puts out a combined output of 329 hp and 658 nm of torque, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 100 in just 4.2 seconds. In this video, Bilal shares his experience of driving a Tesla in Pakistan and briefs us about its interesting tech features.
Purchase Decision
As a tech content creator, Bilal was intrigued about EVs and whether he should shift to an electric car. This decision was also encouraged by the fact that he had solar installed in his house, which would be ideal for charging an EV. He then searched for EVs on Pakwheels and stumbled upon this Model S, which was listed at a very reasonable price. Thus he finally decided to sell his Fortuner, add in some extra cash, and buy this Tesla Model S.
Features
As per the owner, he was amazed after seeing how smart this car is. According to him, other EVs may have ADAS features, but the attention to detail in this car is unmatched. Some of these features include one-pedal driving, which slows the car as soon as the accelerator is released. Another interesting feature is that it can configure multiple users and adjust its seats by sensing which user is approaching the car. Moreover, it has adaptive suspension, which can adjust the ride height and even the suspension stiffness.
As per the owner, if you raise the car at a speed breaker, the car will save that speed breaker’s location and automatically raise the car the next time you approach it. Furthermore, instead of a start/stop button, the car is ready to drive just by pressing the brake. The infotainment system is the heart of this car, and every feature is controlled through this. It even gets constant updates which the owner plays around with frequently.
Along with that, it has 12 cameras around the car, which record the car’s surroundings when someone is very close to it. Lastly, this car has a Pet Mode, which locks the car after you leave but keeps the air conditioning on for your pet.
Acceleration
Apart from its advanced tech, this Tesla Model S has immense power. The electric motors deliver instant speed, and the 658 nm of torque provides a roller coaster feel upon acceleration. As per the owner, when he floors the car, passengers often forget what they are talking about just because of the shock factor. Despite being the 75D, this car can accelerate from 0 to 100 in just 4.2 seconds, making it very fun to drive.
Maintenance
As per the owner, it’s been a few months since he bought the Model S, and he hasn’t had to spend any money. It charges solar; thus no charging cost and it has no parts which need replacement or periodic maintenance. The only maintenance this car requires is refilling the windshield washer fluid, and that’s it.
Brake wear and tear is absent as it brakes through the electric motors, which regenerate energy from it. Although parts availability is a serious issue as there are no body parts available locally, and they have to be sourced from abroad. This may be costly if the need arises.
