Wagon R AGS pictures revealed-Have a look!
Pak Suzuki is all set to introduce the AGS version of its 1000cc hatchback Wagon R at the beginning of the next year. Meanwhile, let’s have a look at the latest pictures revealed for the upcoming model.

According to the details, the new and the third variant of Wagon R will be no different from the existing ones except the difference of transmission. The company is not expected to make any other changes to the car, considering the price constraint of the hatchback. Suzuki Wagon R has been a success story of the Japanese auto manufacturer in Pakistan. However, the hatchback has now lost the free-flowing sales primarily due to its surging price and the introduction of comparatively smaller 660cc Alto. Wagon R is currently available in the local market in two variants, i.e. VXR and VXL. The current ex-factory price of these manual variants of Wagon R is mentioned below:
- Suzuki Wagon R VXR PKR 1,540,000
- Suzuki Wagon R VXL PKR 1,625,000
Wagon R Auto-Gear Shift version will make its entry into the local market in the next year. The company has not yet revealed any final date of launch for the automatic version. It is worthy to mention here that the new version will also come with a price hike, which is expected to be around Rs.1-1.5 lac in the AGS variant.
On the other hand, Wagon R has lost significant market share over the past six months or so. The imposition of Federal Excise Duty (FED) as well as the devaluation of Pakistani Rupee against the US dollar surged its price massively. As a result, its sales have dropped, and consumers prefer to purchase the 660cc Alto instead. In the first five months of the ongoing fiscal year, its sales have declined by a massive 74.97%. The automaker only managed to sell 3339 units of Wagon R in the July-November period. Pak Suzuki produced 6356 units of its hatchback in this period, which shows the low demand in the market. Have a look at the comparison of sales stats of Wagon R in the fiscal year 2019-20 with its corresponding period last year.
Considering the price constraint, it will be interesting to see the response of consumers towards the AGS variant of Wagon R. Will the popular hatchback bounce back with improved sales next year on the back of a new variant? Tell us in the comments section below and stay tuned to PakWheels for more updates on the automobile industry of Pakistan.
no one cares.
I care!
it didn’t have the value for money, and it got even worst. If they can’t make it cheap then Suzuki should shut down their plant like Honda Atlas and Indus Motors…
