12th Gen Toyota Corolla launched in Nigeria

When Pakistani Toyota lovers are waiting for a new 12th-gen Toyota Corolla running on local roads, the company has launched the Car in Nigeria. 

Director of the Industrial Infrastructure Development Department of the National Automotive Design and Development Council, Dr. Nau Omisanya unveiled the latest machine during Abuja Motor Fair.

Marketing Manager of Toyota Nigeria Limited, Mr. Bayo Olawoyin stated that Toyota Corolla carries the dominance in the passenger car segment in Nigeria in the face of its reliability and quality. Interestingly, the Toyota Corolla has been considered a very successful model in Nigeria for the last three decades and it is expected that the new model will continue the legacy.

Features and Specifications

The latest Toyota Corolla comes with a 1.8L four-cylinder engine, carrying the capacity to produce 185 hp and torque of 173 Nm mated to a CVT gearbox.

Coming inside the cabin, the Car is equipped with:

  • leather seats
  • 7 speakers
  • dual (eco and sport) driving modes
  • 7-inch multimedia unit with Bluetooth
  • dual mode auto air conditioning system
  • wireless door lock
  • Push start/stop
  • keyless entry 

… and more.

Concerning safety features, ABS with EBD, anti-theft system, driver and passenger seat belt warning, vehicle stability control, and rear and front parking sensors come under the hood as standard.

The latest Car will come to the country…

Sources have come with some revelations revealing that the new Toyota will come to the country at the end of 2023 but will be a hybrid variant. Moreover, we may welcome another CKD Toyota car dubbed Corolla Cross in the same year. This time, the CBU Corolla cross is sold in the country at a hefty price.

Toyota Pakistan launched three variants (Premium, Smart, and Low Base) of Corolla Cross with a 1798cc 3ZR-FEX (Hybrid) engine producing 71hp and 142 Nm Torque.
