Quality Issues in Suzuki Cars Annoyed Customers
At a time when Pakistan Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) is shattering its competitors with looming sales, quality issues are annoying its customers. Months ago, a customer claimed that the company sold him an Alto with a “Painted door”. But now the number is manifold. A number of customers came with a bulk of quality issues, i.e., misaligned fittings, paint issues, and transmission errors. The photos of faulty Suzuki cars have gone on social media, and the company is facing a perfect storm.
1- Misaligned Bonnet Fitting
Alto with mussed bonnet placement angered the customer. The photos of cars have created a fuss on social media. One side of the bonnet is normal, whilst the other side exhibits immense gaps. Off-balance fitting gives it a broken look.
In a social media post, the customer post read:
“Took me two yrs. of planning and to accumulate money to buy my first ever car. Booked Alto VXR via bank and waited 6 months (delayed due to some operational issues) to get my hands on my first ever hard-earned car on 11th October 2022. I was excited and emotional at the same time because this may be my first ever achievement and this is what I got from Suzuki Pakistan. There was no check and balance, quality assurance, quality check at the time of delivery. My mistake is that I did not check this issue at the time of receiving it as it’s a brand-new car (what could go wrong) but apparently this is a MANUFACTURING FAULT. The entire right side of the bonnet is off and disbalanced can be seen in pictures clearly.”
Interestingly, the episode doesn’t end here – to be continued…
2- Again – Crooked fitting
Another customer posted photos of his car with unbalanced fitting – strengthened the narrative that the company seems least concerned about build quality. Above, the fitting fault was limited to the bonnet, but here the problem has no limits – expanded to the bonnet, roof, and doors.
Here are the photos, translating the whole story:
3- Nothing is New
Earlier this year, a customer claimed that the company sold him Alto with a Painted door. In a social media post, the customer from Karachi claimed that his brother-in-law bought a brand-new Suzuki Alto from a Suzuki dealership, but they were shocked to see a painted door. The customer said that the dealership had no quality control check system.
He further stated that they didn’t buy the car from a Sunday market, where you have to take a mechanic to check the car’s condition; instead, it was bought from the company’s dealership. And no one expects a painted, new car from the authorized dealership of a company. So, yes, it isn’t very good.
