2015 Land Rover Discovery Sports
Land Rovers have long carried a reputation and the capability of going anywhere, but after Tata took over Jaguar and LR, we have been seeing some pretty neat stuff coming out of the two British luxury manufacturers. The F-Type, Evoque and the Range Rover are great vehicles. Range Rover has Sonar to tell you how deep you are in the water and how much more deep can you go actually. Then there’s the remarkable increase in sales. Just look at vehicles like the Range Rover Sport, LR2/Freelander, and their latest, Land Rover Discovery Sport. A boost in Land Rover sales Has been recorded.
Impressively, the Discovery Sport can support more devices than the number of passengers it can carry. Perfect for those with more gadgets than kids. Offering everyday capability in a more efficient package.
The car’s got a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine, the Discovery Sport makes 240 horsepower and 250 lb.-ft. of torque. A 9-speed automatic transmission (with available paddle shifters) provides the power to all wheel drive system. The chassis is designed for both off road and on road luxurious drive.
Fuel economy has always been a major point of a car. Land Rover progressed with use of ultra high strength lightweight aluminum body in the new one as the out-going Discovery weighed 2-tons.
Range Rover is a high-end SUV and has been doing rather well. Toyota has also been following Range Rover to tap into the Luxury/Premium SUV market by revamping its Land Cruiser to compete with Ranger Rover and Porsche Cayenne.
