Every year, the VCCCP (Vintage Classic Car Club of Pakistan) members set out on a cross country rally from Karachi. This year their pack of vintage beauties include a 1954 Austin Healey roadster low-rider, a late 60’s Ford Mustang Fastback, a ’58 Chevrolet Corvette convertible, a split-window Volkswagen Micro bus, a W108 coupe, a MG roadster and many other beautiful looking and powerful dreamy classic cars. On the rally, they pass through almost all the major cities on their journey.
Their plan for this year was something like this;
20th November – Departure from Karachi to Gambat
21th November – Bhawalpur
22nd-25th November – Lahore, car show at Tricon Village (11AM-5PM)
25th-27th November – Islamabad, car show at Serena Hotel (via invitation only)
27th-29th November – Rawalkot, Azad Kashmir
30th November – Back to Islamabad, set out for Peshawar for a car show at Peshawar Club
1st December – Back to Islamabad again for the Pakwheels Auto Festival (return to Karachi on the same evening)
The purpose of this rally is to show people what these old beauties are really capable of, and that they can really drive into the country side without worrying about a thing. They aren’t just your regular trophy showcase vintages, these vintage cars are driven, like all cars should be!
The people of Islamabad and Rawalpindi are in for a treat! The VCCCP crew and their stunning looking vehicles will be at the Pakwheels Auto Festival 2013 on the 1st of December, 2013 at Lake View Park, Islamabad (11AM-8PM). Trust me, you DO NOT want to miss this, you don’t get to see these babies everyday.
