PAMA Report: Car Sales Increased By 27% last Month
This month, we present a refreshed analysis of the financial performance of local car manufacturers, with a particular focus on sales figures from the preceding month. Our report offers a comprehensive overview of the best-selling vehicles, leading industry players, and key takeaways based on the latest statistics released by the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA).
Car Sales
According to the latest PAMA data, car sales experienced a significant month-on-month increase of 27% in June. Local manufacturers sold 14,050 units last month, up from 11,043 units in July. Year-on-year figures also reflect strong growth, with a 62% increase compared to the same period the previous year. In the corresponding period last year, 8,699 vehicles were sold.
Motorcycles and Three-Wheelers
The sales of local motorcycles and three-wheelers saw a modest increase of 19%, with 148,063 units sold in August compared to 124,538 units in July. However, there was a significant 42% increase in year-on-year sales.
- Atlas Honda sales increased by 21%, selling 126,529 units last month compared to 104,892 in July 2025.
- Pak Suzukisaw a 4% drop, selling 2,608 units last month, up from 2,518 units in July.
- Yamaha Pakistan sold 625 units in August, up from 586 units in July.
- United Auto Motors sold 13,408 units last month, up from 12,605 units in July.
Trucks and Buses
Sales of trucks and buses also experienced a massive jump of 78% decline, with 666 units sold in August compared to 374 units in July 2025.
Company-Wise Sales Breakdown
Here’s a breakdown of car sales performance for major automotive companies in Pakistan during July 2025:
- Toyota Pakistan saw a 2% drop in sales, with 3,400 units sold in August, compared to 3,337 vehicles in July 2025.
- Pak Suzuki Motors Company (PSMC) experienced a significant 94% jump, with 7,154 vehicles sold last month, compared to 3,680 units in July.
- Honda Atlas recorded a 28% drop in sales, selling 1,073 units in August, compared to 1,500 units in July.
- Hyundai Nishatsaw a minimal decrease of 1%, with 1,212 units sold in August, down from 1,225 units in July 2025.
- Sazgar Engineering (SAZEW) ‘s sales dropped by 3%, with 1,049 units sold in August compared to 1,079 in July.
Note: Sales figures for Kia Lucky Motors, Master Changan Motors, Regal Motors, MG Motors, and Al-Haj Proton are not included in this report as they are not members of PAMA.
Car-Wise Sales Breakdown
Pakistan Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) sold 4,193 units of the Alto, 497 units of the Suzuki Cultus, 22 units of the Suzuki Wagon R, 1,473 units of the Suzuki Swift, 593 units of the Suzuki Ravi, and 376 units of the Every.
Toyota Indus sold 2,553 units of the Corolla, Yaris, and Corolla Cross, as well as 847 units of the Fortuner and IMVs.
Honda Atlas sold 699 units of City and Civic, and 374 units of BR-V and HR-V.
Hyundai Nishat sold 145 units of Elantra, 58 units of Sonata, 314 units of Porter, 631 units of Tucson, and 64 units of Santa Fe. Similarly, Sazgar Engineering sold 1,045 and 4 units of Haval series and BAIC, respectively.

Analysis of Local Automotive Market Performance
The local automotive market experienced a strong recovery in August 2025, with car sales increasing by 27% month-on-month and 62% year-on-year, driven by renewed demand and improved supply. Pak Suzuki led growth with nearly doubled sales, while Toyota held steady, and Honda faced a sharp decline.
Hyundai and Sazgar experienced slight drops, although the Tucson and Haval performed well. Motorcycles and three-wheelers rose 19% monthly and 42% annually, led by Atlas Honda, while truck and bus sales stayed weak. Overall, demand for passenger vehicles, particularly entry-level and mid-segment models, remained the key driver of growth.
