Updated ‘Own Money’ Rates – December 2016

11 196

The concept of On/Own money has always been recipient to a mixed reaction; some consumers hate it, and some tolerate this idea. Same is the story with showroom owners; some try to justify it and some draw a straight line when it comes to Own Money and just flat out refuse to negotiate on this price. However, the fact remains that this market peaks at certain times in a year, when the demand is higher than production, by a big margin. Thus, some -in demand- cars’ own rate is higher than that of average cars. Nonetheless, 2016 is about to say its farewell and we, at PakWheels.com wanted to present one last insight into this market. Many of you might have noticed that car dealerships across the country sell vehicles at slightly lower prices than usual, in the first couple of months of the new year and vice versa; the reason for this phenomenon is that these cars -sold at lower Own money- are sold with the invoice date of previous year, which means the registration of these vehicles will be listed in the previous year, as well. More importantly, majority of the people stop buying cars in the last two months of any year, and as a result, ‘own’ rates see a tremendous increase in the first 3-4 months of the new year. Keeping all that perspective in mind, we have compiled the list of current Own money rates -with 2016 invoice- for almost all of the vehicles being sold by Pakistan’s three major auto manufacturers.

What on earth does control prices mean?

rates decrease in the first couple of months of the new year and at the same time increase tremendously in the first 3-4 months of the new year… What does that mean?

So buy FAW V2 , 1300cc with price tag of 10.49 lacs and no OWN money…..

It means that there is no ‘Own/On Money’ on the car, you just go to a dealership and buy it.

Oho, bro this situation is two-fold:
1- Cars with 2016 Invoice are sold at lower prices
2- Cars with 2017 invoice are sold at higher prices
Why exactly this happens? Well, dealers try to milk out the profit by bull shitting the consumers with some lame excuses like “Paen ae gaddi 2016 madal ae”. However both are same cars with same production date, the only difference is the invoice price, because that’s what counts for a majority of people.

Are there seriously people out there willing to pay 0.9 – 1 lac extra for the Vitara? Are you sure you got this right? Suddenly this list doesn’t look too authentic just seeing the Vitara figures… btw has anyone so far seen a Vitara on the road? Maybe I do not go out too much but I have yet to see one on the road.

Just a stupid marketing tactic from PS dealerships, as always. It happens, when artificial demand is created by making hoax consumers. After all, this whole concept of Own depends on this artificial demand.

This blog is evidence that local manufacturers are not able to fulfill the demand of cars. Government should deregulate and free the market.

I read somewhere that as per PK regulations if the booking time given by a company is greater than 2 months ..than that person will receive some compensation for the extra time he has to wait….
    Is this true ?
