A consumer has taken Pak Suzuki to court over not fixing the faulty transmission in his Suzuki Alto. According to legal notice by the car owner’s lawyer, he bought a brand new Alto VXL from Suzuki Crown Motors, Faisalabad in May 2021. However, after 4 months the owner started facing mechanical issues as the car started jerking during the drive.

After that, he took the car to an authorized Suzuki workshop in Jhang, where he was told that the car’s gear needed replacement and it will cost him Rs. 700,000. “The owner provided them warranty card; however, the workshop denied entertaining,” the legal notice read, adding that the card clearly mentioned that warranty can be claimed if the car is not driven for more than 60,000 kilometers from the invoice date. “This vehicle is only driven 30,000 kilometers till December 19, 2021,” the notice mentioned.

The owner then got the car checked from another Suzuki dealership in Lahore, where they diagnosed it with a “vibration jerk” in gear. “Later, he visited Pak Suzuki Motors office in Lahore and informed them about vehicle’s condition and claimed warranty,” the notice read.

However, the owner claimed that the company outrightly denied the claim. “Henceforth, the company now requires to return all of his amount to the extent of Rs. 2million,” the legal notice asserted. The lawyer has directed Suzuki to return the amount within 15 days; otherwise, legal proceedings will be initiated in the consumer court.

Other Issue in Suzuki Alto

This is not the first time Suzuki Alto has been in the news due to some fault. A few days ago, another consumer got brand new Alto but with a painted door. The news caused quite a stir on social media, and it highlighted the importance of car inspection, even if you are buying a new vehicle.

Company’s Statement

PakWheels.com contacted Pak Suzuki to get its stance on the issue; however, we haven’t received any answer yet. We will add the company’s response to this article once we get one.
