Crossover SUVs in the Price of New Honda Civic
Honda Pakistan is making headlines with the biggest car launch of the year. The new Honda Civic 2022 is here in three variants, all costing a fortune. Everyone’s been saying the prices of the new Civic are way too much, and we agree. You can choose from a dozen other options for the price of new Civic. In this article, we’ll go through the crossovers and SUVs that compete with the new Civic in terms of price.
Prices of New Honda Civic
The new Honda Civic 2022 has crossed Rs. 5 million price tag. The base Civic 1.5L Turbo M-CVT variant price is Rs. 5,099,000. The mid Civic Oriel 1.5L Turbo M-CVT variant price is Rs. 5,399,000. And the price of the top-of-the-line Civic RS 1.5L Turbo LL-CVT variant is Rs. 6,149,000.
1. KIA Sportage
If Honda Civic is the queen of sedans in Pakistan, KIA Sportage is the queen of SUVs in Pakistan. The crossover SUV has taken the market by storm in just two years. KIA’s hot seller has got it all: looks, power, comfort, safety, resale.
You can get the fully-loaded top-of-the-line KIA Sportage AWD variant for Rs. 5,788,000. It comes with all the frills of panoramic sunroof, LED lights, power tailgate, leather seats, and much more.
2. Hyundai Tucson
Next, we have Sportage’s cousin SUV, the Hyundai Tucson. Tucson has everything Sportage does, even better. Both cars have the same 2.0-L engine and 6-speed automatic gearbox. Tucson looks more premium than Sportage, both inside and out. The only reason why Tucson is not as common as Sportage is because of the delivery issues.
The top-of-the-line Tucson AWD Ultimate has a panoramic sunroof, leather seats, a 10-inch floating display, a 4.2-inch LCD cluster, wireless phone charging, and more. The price of Rs. Tucson Ultimate variant is Rs. 5,999,000.
3. Proton X70
Another crossover SUV option is the Proton X70, with the best value for money. The car has a 1,500cc turbo engine, smaller in size but more powerful than the Tucson or Sportage engines.
The X70 SUV has powerpack features of adaptive cruise control, voice command control, panoramic sunroof, 360° camera, NAPA leather seats at a cheaper price than its competitors. The upper Proton X70 Premium FWD variant comes at Rs. 4,890,000.
Proton had a rough time with the delivery of Proton X70 because of a series of lockdowns in Malaysia. The company has finally started the local production of X70, so the delivery issues have now been resolved. Like Sportage and Tucson, we’ll see more X70 SUVs on the roads.
4. Haval Jolion
After South Korean and Malaysian crossover SUVs, we have a Chinese option of Haval Jolion. It’s an imported premium crossover with a 1500cc turbo engine. Jolion’s looks are the car’s best-selling point; the other is its feature richness.
Four drive modes, 8.6-inch multi-information display, 10.25-inch entertainment unit, adaptive cruise control, paddle shifters, dual automatic climate control, panoramic sunroof, 360° camera, and a bunch of safety features make this car a great choice.
Haval Jolion comes as a CBU (Completely Built-Up) import in Pakistan, and that’s why its price is more than Sportage, Tucson, and others. Jolion CBU costs Rs. 6,020,000 (still less than the new Civic).
5. DFSK Glory 580 Pro
Next, we have a 7-seater crossover, the DFSK Glory 580 Pro. Unlike Honda BR-V, this one is a spacious car with a powerful 1500cc turbo engine. Glory 580 Pro is an intelligent SUV with impressive features like foot trunk release, 360° camera, digital video recorder, i-Talk voice command, cornering lights, panoramic sunroof, etc.
Besides being intelligent, Glory 580 Pro is also a good-looking car with a fairly cheap price tag of Rs. 5,040,000.
6. Peugeot 2008
The last one on this list is a newly launched B-segment crossover, the Peugeot 2008. This one is a premium crossover, smaller than Sportage, Tucson, and others, comes with a 1200cc turbo engine. But the car is the true definition of French beauty.
Peugeot 2008 Allure has an 8-inch touchscreen, premium TEP material seats, panoramic sunroof, ice-blue ambient lighting, wireless trunk opener, and a lot of safety features under its belt.
Launched just two weeks ago, the French B-segment crossover is a brand-new product in the market. Although Peugeot 2008 is also an overpriced car, it still costs less than the new Honda Civic. The fully-loaded Peugeot 2008 Allure variant comes at Rs. 5,850,000.
There are other crossovers that cost a lot less than the new Civic, KIA Stonic, MG ZS, Honda BR-V. But we have focused on the ones within the price bracket of Rs. 50 to 62 lacs because that’s where the new Civic has been priced.
On one hand, you have the brand-new 11th generation Honda Civic. And on the other, you have a wide range of tried and tested crossovers. You can either buy the latest Honda sedan, or you can choose from the above and upgrade to a crossover. The choice is yours; hope you make a good one!
In my view, Civic is a sedan and is supposed to offer more comfort and road grip as compared to a Crossover. The reason it is merely a cross between sedan and S.U.V. and cross products never offer similar value as well as the original product that were used to conceive them off by adding a bit of features from another category.
Moreover, is not Peugot smaller than Civic? It is a B-segment whereas Civic is a C-segment vehicle, as for Chinese, well, only a show off is going to buy a flashy box of a vehicle that a Jolion or Glory is.
@Khurram
Physically sedan are more comfortable and dynamic than SUV, the center of gravity is lower.
After i had checked the price of civic for USA, i can say it is not expensive, but for local pakistani it is i know, is because of rupee devaluation. It is time to stop importing second hand cars.
The two worst car of this list is
First Peugeot 2008 with a price of Rs. 5,850,000. when Proton for upper Proton X70 Premium FWD variant comes at Rs. 4,890,000, don’t get fooled people, don’t buy Peugeot.
Peugeot won’t offer more than 2 years warranty when Proton is offering 5 years; i let you imagine the differences in reliability and durability.
And considering price and warranty even DFSK glory dosn’t worth to buy with a 3 years warranty o 60 000 km and a price of Rs. 5,040,000. .
Second is Haval Jolion with a price of Rs. 6,020,000 when Sorento is starting with Rs. 6 836 000 with a 2.4L engine, 7 seats and a better warranty, for someone who want to buy Haval Jolion is it better to consider Kia Sorento.
Anway comparing a sedan with SUV make no sense since they aren’t in the same category.
