Ferrari 458 Speciale is the slipperiest Ferrari ever made

Upcoming Frankfurt Auto Show will house some of the most economically fast cars like the Toyota Vitz Hybrid R and some of the most notoriously fuel hungry fast cars like the Ferrari 458 Speciale.

This Ferrari is no ordinary Ferrari either, the Italian automaker claims that Ferrari 458 Speciale has the highest specific output of any naturally-aspirated engine on the market and the quickest response time. It also has the highest lateral acceleration and slipperiest shape of any production road car Ferrari has ever made.

All of this means that the numbers this Ferrari will deal with will be extraordinary. The 4.5-liter V8 has been retuned to deliver 34 more horsepower then the standard 458 bringing the total figure to 596 horsepower, as opposed to 562 hp in the standard 458.

The supercar manufacturers, Porsche, Lamborghini, Ferrari, etc etc — all of them follow a trend of charging more for less, all of them throw away everything like the radio, a/c, comfortable seats and carpets, etc etc in the name of shedding weight and making it lighter so it can take corners fast and charge a huge price for the car.

Standard 458 weighs at 1,485 kg but the 458 Speciale has shed a lot of stuff to only weigh 1,290 kg which is a lot in supercar terms.

Moving further, the 458 Speciale, thanks to its Adaptive aerodynamic system which will be introduced to all future Ferraris, will now take the Speciale from 0-to-60 in 3 seconds flat and to 124 mph in just 9.1 seconds.

Ferrari has been doing really bad at Formula One these days and it’s often said that when Ferrari’s Formula One team is doing bad, their road cars are absolutely spectacular and this will be.
