Government Of Punjab is going to start issuing custom number plates at a premium to vehicle owners from October, 2015.
These plates are not the personalized number plates you see on the cars in foreign countries that contain some form of a name or specific word. Instead, plates issued will have your regular car registration number but will come with a symbol of your choosing.
That symbol can be about some iconic personality or a cause. Some of those include WWF Pakistan, historic symbols of Pakistan, and counter terrorism etc. National heroes like Quaid-i-Azam and all recipients of Nishan-i-Haider, and famous icons like Mehdi Hasan and Noor Jahan (singers), Faiz Ahmad Faiz (poet), and national figures from other provinces will also be featured.
The number plates will also be recognizable by the Auto Number Plate Recognition cameras. Plates like ‘MNA’ and ‘MPA’ will be prohibited.
There was a proposal of donating parts of the registration fee to the causes they are representing as well.
So no KING KHAN plates 😉
No KingKhan, no Gujar1, and no SAEEN.
and they will be used extensively by ppl’s in corolla with plates saying.. gujjar 1, malik 1, chuadry 1, MNA 1,, bla bla bla!! well of course not 😛 😀
No MNA, Senator or MPA plates. This is good news.
