Last June, Toyota Global published the official images of Toyota Tundra TRD Sport. The company took the step after its images were leaked online. And now the spy shots of Toyota Tundra 2022 Standard are circulating online.
Exterior Upgrades
The newly emerged photos show the revised exterior styling, as well as changes in the interior. The company has introduced several upgrades, including horizontal headlights with Y-Shaped lighting signatures and a large grille section that stretches down to the bumper. The car’s rear has also been upgraded with a new bumper, chiselled rear fender line, and prominent C-shaped taillights.
Furthermore, the new Tundra 2022 has a newly redesigned suspension.
Interior Upgrades
The first thing you will notice in the new Tundra 2022 is a huge infotainment system mounted high on the dashboard. Under the screen, there are hard buttons, while there are new air vents on its sides. The gear handle is located in the central tunnel.
Expected Engine
It is expected that the new Tundra will have a new twin-turbocharged V6 engine generating over 400hp. It is also possible that this new vehicle will come with a new hybrid and electric powerplants.
Something About Tundra TRD
The Tundra TRD has adopted a much more athletic personality. The aggressive TRD Pro nose stuffed with LED lights, oh come on, Toyota. Yeh cheez! Similar TRD Pro stamping in the tailgate fits with the whole vibe. While at the rear, say hello to the seven-spoke alloy wheels.
What’s Under the Hood?
Toyota has already confirmed that the new Tundra’s base engine will be more powerful than the mighty 5.7-L V8. It will bring more efficiency, less weight, and lower CO2 emissions. Rumour has it that a V6 Turbocharged engine might be the one. Another rumour suggests that Toyota might offer this beast with a hybrid powertrain.
At this point, the question is when will Toyota officially reveal the 2022 Toyota Tundra. Earlier, we had the news about the company breaking cover sometime around September 2022. But with all the teasers and the drama, we suspect that a proper debut could be just around the corner.
